On 11 December 2023, during the morning, in the Multimedia Room of the "Montebello" Carabinieri Barracks in Milano, the Brigadier General Pierluigi Solazzo, Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri, met with representatives of around 50 neighborhood committees and associations active in the various areas of the city of Milano.

The event, which was attended by the Commander of the Carabinieri Group of Milano, the Commander of the Radiomobile Unit, the Head of the Operations Centre, the Commanders of the Duomo, Porta Monforte and Porta Magenta Companies, as well as the 17 Commanders of the Carabinieri Stations of the city, aims to feed the listening and dialogue circuits already underway between the representatives of the associations and the heads of the territorial branches of the force at different levels, primarily in terms of reassurance.

Starting from a joint examination of the main critical issues of the areas of the Milanese territory, especially with reference to the phenomena that more than others negatively impact residents' feelings of safety – from predatory crime to violent nightlife, from drug dealing to urban decay, from youth hardship to abusive occupations – the meeting was an opportunity to make a situational point on ongoing initiatives, sharing the methods of reporting situations of interest to the Carabinieri Stations, as well as identifying good collaboration practices, in a positive comparison between the different experiences in the area.

From this perspective, the initiative allows you to strengthen the relationship of trust between citizens, third sector organizations and the Carabinieri, identifying dialogue and structured discussion as the main tool to best direct the prevention and contrast mechanism, in compliance with the various problems of the territory. The meeting is part of a process - already underway throughout the Lombardy capital through other local initiatives, including the neighborhood Carabiniere - who will see further moments of discussion and sharing from a frank perspective collaboration with all public and private entities who, in various capacities, operate in the capital.
