The Oscar winner Totò Cascio premiered at the “Messina book Festival”.

It takes place in Messina at “Tennis and Sailing Club”, on 28 July 2023 the “Messina Book Festival”, manifestation related to “Messina Cinema Award”, produced by Me.Pa.
In a space dedicated to beautiful literature, four writers are hosted with different, but equally valid stories of excellence, who dialogue with the writer and journalist Cinzia Alibrandi and Walter Corda, who gives a focus on each writer, making use of his mastery of singer and guitarist. Walter Corda is a multifaceted artist, working for Mediaset as a television writer for Maurizio Costanzo for twenty years and, to date, Maria De Filippi.

Opening of the proceedings in music, to the tune of “Mari Fora” by the award-winning Choir of the Liceo Classico “F. Maurolico" directed by Silvia Bruccini, introduced by the Headmaster Giovanna De Francesco, highlighting that the high school is a "hub school" for the "School Libraries of the Sicily Region", and this representation, within a literary event, takes on a value of particular emphasis.
Presentation of the installation “I open a book and I see the horizon”, from an idea by Cinzia Alibrandi, project and realization by Arch. Maddalena Palamara.
The actor Toto Cascio, guest in the world premiere in Messina, remains in the collective imagination the child prodigy protagonist of "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso", a film that has won awards, a masterpiece by Giuseppe Tornatore, with which he won the "OSCAR AWARD".

Cascio presents the book “The glory and the proof”, Baldini+Castoldi, which makes use of two authoritative seals: the preface by his Maestro Giuseppe Tornatore, and the afterword by Andrea Bocelli who explains to him “Totò, it is not a disgrace: the blindness must be accepted." The other authors are: Ninni Panzera, General Secretary of Taoarte for 40 years, with “Saluti da Palizzi”, La rafta dell'arte; Giovanna Giordano, candidate in 2020 for the "Nobel Prize for Literature", with "Il Volo Magico", Mondadori; the box office champion Daniel Speck, with “The Heart Has No Borders”, Sperling&Kupfer.
The evening ends with a fashion show by the well-known Lombard designer Martino Midali, awarded this year with the "Ambrogino d'oro".
In the morning the "Messina Book Festival" is welcomed by the Headmaster of the "Francesco Maurolico" classical high school Giovanna De Francesco, for the Master Class "Weigh and weigh words - from female violence to gender equality", which sees the students as protagonists with the screening of their films, in the presence of the stylist Martino Midali, who has always been on the front line against female violence.
