La Spezia, “our souls at night” at the Carcano Theater

La Spezia, 04 December 2023 – Second appointment with the 2023-24 Prose Season at the Teatro Civico della Spezia. It will be staged on Wednesday 6 December at 20.45pmOur souls at night”, a production by Teatro Carcano featuring protagonists Lella Costa and Elia Schilton directed by Serena Sinigaglia.

The Civic Theater also communicates that, due to the Company's impossibility, the meeting with the actors scheduled for Wednesday 6th at 18pm as part of the FOYER exhibition at PI will not take placeN.

The text, adapted and translated by Emanuele Aldrovandi, is based on the novel of the same name by Kent Haruf (1943-2014), one of the greatest exponents of contemporary American literature.

Addie and Louis, both widowers in their seventies, who live alone a few meters away, have known each other for years, because Addie was good friends with Diane, Louis' missing wife, but in reality they don't see each other, at least until the day they Addie makes a rather surprising proposal to her neighbor. Since, after her husband's death, she has difficulty falling asleep alone, she invites Louis to come to her place to sleep together. It is not an erotic proposal, but the desire to share with someone again that nocturnal intimacy made up mainly of chats in the dark before giving in to sleep. But society is not ready to grant those entering the third stage of life a romantic dream.
