Rovigo, Teatro Sociale show for students “Turn off the light”
Art that breaks away from traditional patterns to investigate and address important issues. Tuesday 23 January at 10.30am, Fabula Saltica brings to the stage at the Teatro Sociale, "Turn off the light". A show born from the idea of bringing out the phenomenon of social withdrawal among young adolescents and young adults who live in complete or partial isolation. The phenomenon of social withdrawal, known as Hikikomori, is increasingly present in Italy too, among young adolescents and young adults aged between 14 and 30. If the initial starting point of the project was the investigation into the phenomenon mentioned above, the historical period that has just passed, which saw forced isolation as the main aspect to limit the spread of the Sars Covid 19 epidemic, has significantly broadened the field by opening the reflection on the consequent impact it has generated on the most fragile people.

Il period of "closure" it has strongly affected young adolescents forced to experience solitude and an almost exclusively virtual sociality. “Thanks to the documentation collected and the support of experts in the sector – explains director Claudio Ronda -, we questioned ourselves about the reasons for the social withdrawal of these kids, a conscious choice of the rejection of a society that does not represent them. Our project aims to investigate and understand a complex reality rooted in the critical issues of our time with a non-typically conventional and multidisciplinary approach. Through dance, music, the image we tried to convey a human story by entering into the stories, lives and inner world of the people who live this reality and into their interpretation of existence and the society that surrounds them. “Staying apart” as a necessity, as an act of will, as a representation of isolation, as a conscious refusal of a society that does not reflect its ideals and which presents itself as overly demanding and judgmental.
Through a choral story of research, understanding and elaboration of the phenomenon we bring on stage - concludes Ronda - a show where children and adult spectators will explore the reasons, the thoughts of a contemporary hermit, of children who self-seclude themselves, in a choice conscious and painful absence from society. It is a "renunciation of the world", between fear and courage, between surrender and a revolutionary act, it is the request for authentic listening, for a new life, for new values and other possible universes of meaning that have been closed to them".
Definitely one very important topic that must be addressed and understoodto. For this reason, pre-show conferences are underway in schools with Claudio Ronda the choreographer, Federica Boniolo the psychologist, and Milena Dolcetto who takes care of the TeatroRagazzi projects of the Teatro Sociale. A useful moment of discussion with the students who welcomed the project very well.
The show has, in fact, already recorded the sold out and requests to participate are continuous.
The participating schools are: Celio Roccati, Agricultural Institute of Sant Apollinare, Technical Center of Adria and De Amicis and Viola Marchesini.
The project is supported by Irsap: “Irsap – states Francesco Ronsisvalle – is proud to support such a delicate and complex project”.
