Rovigo: double event on Sunday 22nd September with the Sports Festival and the Provincial Volunteering Festival

Sport and solidarity go hand in hand. Sunday September 22th the squares of Rovigo will be held Sports Festival in Rovigo and the Provincial festival of volunteering and solidarity. A synergy between CSV of Padua and Rovigo and the provincial delegation of Coni of Rovigo, with the collaboration of the municipal administration of Rovigo.

The event was presented on 18/09/2024 at Nodari palace.

“I thank Coni and Csv – said the mayor Valeria Citizen -, for having, together, created a great moment for our community. This is a positive initiative from all points of view. Sports and volunteering are two realities that go in the same direction, offering opportunities for growth, respect for the rules, the ability to relate, inclusion. The goal is common: to promote the well-being of people. This administration supports all sports and associations; I take this opportunity to bring the greetings of Councilor Andrea Bimbatti who is unable to be here today. Thanks to everyone present, to the organizers and to those who make themselves available to help these important realities grow”.

In collaboration with the CSV, as explained Lucio Taschin, there will be a day of sports demonstrations on the merit of promoting Veneto European Region of Sport 2024. It will be a moment of sports sharing, demonstrations of the various disciplines involved from voluntary associations.

Il CSV, with an autonomous organization, will have on the perimeter of the "listons" of the Vittorio Emanuele II and Garibaldi Squares gazebos of the various voluntary associations. The rest of the spaces will be available to the sports associations participating in the Festival. Each location will have speakers and background music available.

Il Corso del Popolo towards Piazza Matteotti it will be surrounded by information gazebos of the various sports clubs with demonstrations of their activities and timetable division of the common spaces, in Gardens of the Two Towers, Piazza Matteotti, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and along Corso del Popolo.

About twenty associations from the entire Polesano area have joined, which will transform the entire historic center into a synergic sports "Village", aimed at the knowledge and promotion of our realities.

Finally, there will be two presentation moments of sports champions and of our territory directly on the stage of Vittorio Emanuele square, two meetings that will bring the testimony of great athletes who are witnesses of sport and life.

The event, as highlighted Dino Ponchio, president of the Coni Veneto Regional Committee, is part of the "Festival for sports Veneto”, supported by the Veneto Region. “The message we want to promote is: bring sport to the city and to the citizens, to bring the citizens to sport”.

Moving on to the Provincial Volunteer Festival, the vice president of the CSV of Padua and Rovigo spoke, Marinella Mantovani, Flanked by Nicholas Gennaro. “This celebration is part of Solidaria, born in Padua a few years ago and then moved to Rovigo. A cultural path of a territory that will see various workshops has been thought of. It will be a square of lights, colors, joy and smiles. I hope the city will participate. Associations, institutions, citizens, all together to think of a more inclusive and supportive world”.

The Councillor for Solidarity Policies Nadia Bala he concluded: "I hope that this is just the beginning of a team effort, aimed at promoting the culture of sports and volunteering. It is important to donate your time to others, in any form".
