The importance of a virtuous network involving families, schools, civil society and politics as the only possible alliance to implement a cultural change in society on the issue of gender violence.
This is what emerged on November 7, at Rome, Ministry of Culture, where the event entitled “The culture of respect” in view of the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women”, which is celebrated on 25th November.
The following intervened: Valerio De Gioia, counselor at the Court of Appeal of Rome; Anna Maria Giannini, professor at La Sapienza University of Rome; Matilda D'Errico, television writer and director; Costanza Andreini, public policy manager Meta/Facebook; Paul DiPinto, lawyer and Georgia D'Errico, director of Public Affairs & Institutional Relations Save the Children.
During the meeting, the General Directorate of Organization in collaboration with the General Directorate of Museums, in implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the MiC, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Education, presented a awareness project which will see the affixing of the Anti-violence number 1522 on digital and paper tickets, as well as on the websites of the main Italian museums, as a concrete gesture of commitment and the first of a series of initiatives aimed at stimulate the greater amplification of all the tools useful for combating gender violence.
During the works the award was given “Persephone” Award to personalities from institutions and society who have distinguished themselves for their concrete commitment to the prevention of gender violence and the construction of a culture of respect.
Among the winners: Martina Semenzato, president of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into Femicide; Antonio Preziosi, director of TG2; Eleonora Daniele, journalist and television presenter; Joseph Losasso, plastic surgeon and president of the non-profit association “Smileagain”; Mariantonia Secconi, Major Commander of the 3rd section in SV of the XNUMXrd Analysis Department of the Special Operations Group; Louise Brown, teacher at the Publio Vibio Mariano secondary school – San Godenzo complex and Francesca Ascani, contact person for the Publio Vibio Mariano secondary school – San Godenzo complex.
