The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri, the Councilor for Sport, Tourism, Fashion and Major Events of Rome, Alessandro Onorato, the metropolitan councilor and president of the Tourism commission of Rome Capital, Mariano Angelucci, the President of the Capitoline Assembly, Svetlana Celli, the president of the VI Municipio, Nicola Franco, the director of the Museums and archaeological areas of Praeneste and Gabii, Martina Almonte and the Mayor of Monte Compatri, Francesco Ferri.

The enhancement of the routes takes place thanks to new dedicated interactive signage; a bilingual multimedia application that will guide tourists to discover the history, archaeology and botany of the villages, already available online for the first two itineraries revealed; with maintenance interventions and promotional activities both digitally and in the main hospitality hubs of the city. Furthermore, the Department of Tourism and the Department of Mobility will intervene to brand the interior of the 'Finocchio' station of the C metro with signs dedicated to the Gabii Park. Thanks to the collaboration of Atac, the connections to the site with the public transport line will also be intensified.

For the Gabii Archaeological Park, within the developed project, a calendar of extraordinary openings is planned in collaboration with the Park management: the selected days are 12, until January 6, and the visits are free and bookable through the service 060608. The other 5 itineraries chosen are the Esquilino, from via Statilina to the Roman Aquarium; the Almone river and the area of the Gasometer with Garbatella; Tor Marancia and its murals; the Parco degli Acquedotti and Forte Bravetta. They will be inaugurated progressively according to a calendar planned until next summer. The project 'Unexpected Itineraries of Rome' has a total value of 1,2 million euros: It was created in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and financed under the measure “Major Destinations for Sustainable Tourism”.

Thus Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri"We are happy to have contributed to this project, part of a larger work, which gives back to a wonderful site, even older than Rome, the importance it deserves. All the neighborhoods of the Capital have historical and cultural treasures that we want to enhance. The goal is to make them known to the world but also to reveal them to the Romans, giving back to our community the pride of its history. Aware also that all this will do good to the individual territories, starting with their enhancement and with the job opportunities that will be created".

"Today's inauguration - comments the Honored Councilor - is the first step of the 'Unexpected Itineraries' project, a fundamental initiative for the challenge we are facing: making tourism in Rome more sustainable and expanding it throughout the city, which boasts an immense cultural, historical and museum heritage, with places that alone would be worth a trip but are little known. With this work of enhancement and promotion we want to decentralize as much as possible the tourist flows, today too concentrated in the historic center of Rome, and give visitors a reason to stay longer or to return here several times".

the president of the Tourism Commission Mariano Angelucci: "Today is a wonderful day, a dream come true. The Ancient City of Gabii, thanks to almost 5 million investments that will become almost 10 with the approval of the resources for the cycle path, will become one of the most important tourist centers in the world in the coming years. Among the main interventions that will be made there will be the implementation of the Video surveillance and Anti-intrusion system along the entire perimeter of the area, the revision and expansion of the water and electricity network and the creation of a new lighting system along the entire main road. We are happy for the associations and committees that over the years have very often worked alone. I thank the Mayor, Councilor Onorato and all the colleagues of the majority, this journey began two years ago with the approval of a resolution in the Capitoline Assembly and the eco-sustainable itinerary is only the first step of a longer journey. Our administration is transforming the areas furthest from the center and Gabii is proof of this".
