It opened yesterday Smart City Expo World Congress Barcelona, Where Rome capital city presents his vision of sustainable and inclusive smart city. Participation in the event is a unique opportunity to show how the eternal city is transforming into a model of urban innovation based on collaboration between public, private and citizens, with the aim of integrating advanced technologies and sustainable solutions.

The stand of approximately 120 mXNUMX, conceived to represent a “Rome of the future” where tradition and innovation coexist, is divided into thematic areas that favor the interaction between technology, sustainability and strategic collaborationThe environment is designed to involve the public and offer an immersive experience thanks to technologies such as virtual reality, which allows you to explore the Ara Pacis directly from Barcelona. The exhibition area also includes a central stage, inspired by the Ara Pacis Augustae in a contemporary key, where presentations and workshops are held, and a media space, dedicated to the production of digital content such as podcasts.
Among the projects presented, the House of Emerging Technologies (CTE) in Rome, a research and experimentation hub created to foster the creation of an innovation ecosystem, encouraging the birth of startups and supporting technology transfer to the community and local businesses.
The innovative projects on display underline Rome's commitment to the smart city: from the Roma5G network, which with 850 WiFi6 hotspots and numerous access points in the city squares and tunnels will offer advanced connectivity with low environmental impact, at the Traffic Central, which uses artificial intelligence and real-time data to optimize urban mobility, reduce congestion and provide accurate information to citizens. Another flagship project is the “Smart Police Support” Operational Centre, which by the Jubilee 2025 will be enhanced with approximately 15.000 integrated cameras, monitored by an AI system, to ensure urban security in compliance with privacy regulations. The exhibition is completed by the area dedicated to Rome Participates, a space that promotes digital inclusion, ensuring that smart technologies are accessible to all.
