SEMPER project – TOGETHER FOR LIFE ON EARTH: tomorrow the opening of the second edition
Messina. The 2nd edition of the Project is underway SEMPER – TOGETHER For life on earthto "Let's read the Territory: the Capo Peloro Area" Environment, Biodiversity and Natural Phenomena (SOFIA Portal registration ID 89025), organized by the ANISN (National Association of Natural Science Teachers) Messina section, chaired by the professor Domenica Lucchesi, with the collaboration of Harp Sicily and the patronage of Municipality and Metropolitan City of Messina.
The teachers in charge of the schools, who have joined the training course, will participate in the first meeting which will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 8 November, in the Aula Magna of the ISS “F. Bisazza” and will develop for the entire school year.
The path, which is part of the training projects to educate about sustainable development, intends be a guide to understanding the Messina area through adequate reading, using digital media combined with scientific and pedagogical skills. With field surveys we mean involve and arouse curiosity, with the aim of developing critical thinking and thus induce motivation for the acquisition of correct lifestyles with respect for living beings and nature. The project is aimed at teachers, students of primary schools and first and second level secondary schools, it will be developed in blended and field mode and is integrated with related activities to objectives 4, 7, 12, 13, 14, 15 of the UN 2030 Agenda. In particular, three topics will be covered, which relate to the problems of sustainability and ecological transition: water as a natural resource and as a component of habitats; safeguarding biodiversity and protecting the environment.
The intervention site, theCapo Peloro area from the lakes to the sea, up to the Strait of Messina, it is a place that offers a variety of ideas with the involvement of all school subjects, a educational laboratory which has the advantage of being close to the city. The RNO falls within the territory in question, which is a place to know, love, defend and disseminate through a new interpretation that uses the Inquiry strategy, enriched by active teaching, which will allow students to be protagonists of their own learning. The route will last 30 hours and will be divided into the following phases: teacher training, student training, experimental activity in laboratories and in the field, creative activity in the classroom and final conference.
