The results of Next Generation Campobasso were presented - a project that involved the 18 municipalities of the Urban Area of ​​Campobasso.

The 18 municipalities are working on an innovative initiative aimed at enhancing the natural, cultural and artistic heritage of the municipalities involved and relaunching the local economy and tourism.

Yesterday, November 21st, at the civic hall of the Municipality of Campobasso, they were the results of Next Generation Campobasso were presented, a long design journey that has involved institutions and stakeholders from the 18 municipalities of the Campobasso Urban Area, promoted by ANCI and financed by the Department of Public Function.

Il Next Generation Campobasso project highlighted the need to address crucial challenges for the overall improvement of the urban area involved to overcome the traditional fragmented approach that focuses only on individual municipal territories and to promote a broader and more strategic vision. The levers of change identified include the strengthening of system services, the focus on sustainable mobility as a condition of habitability of the territory and the opportunities in the primary sector through a virtuous food and wine valorization process. The next step will be to translate these ideas into tangible actions, with the aim of promoting sustainable and equitable growth, improving the quality of life of local communities and promoting local development.

The event represented a moment of sharing and reflection on the potential of the territory, strengthening the awareness that, through collaboration and innovation, future challenges can be successfully addressed. The Municipality of Campobasso played the role of lead municipality of the project, taking care of its presentation and management, but also redefining, over time, the boundaries of the area and of the municipalities that participated in the project.

Digitalization and tourism development are the pillars on which the mayors of the 18 partner municipalities – Baranello, Busso, Campobasso, Campodipietra, Casalciprano, Castropignano, Ferrazzano, Fossalto, Limosano, Matrice, Mirabello Sannitico, Montagano, Oratino, Petrella Tifernina, Pietracupa, Ripalimosani, San Giovanni in Galdo and Vinchiaturo – have decided to aim to relaunch a territory which in recent years has witnessed a strong transformation of its economy and demographics.” – states Paola Felice, Mayor of Campobasso – The training meetings and workshops, held in person in the various municipalities, allowed the Mayors to deepen mutual knowledge and perceive in a concrete way the benefits of joint coordinated action.”

A cohesion to be exploited for further designs: the next goal, a first experimentation of bottom-up co-planning for the Urban Area of ​​Campobasso, immediately implementable with the preparation of an application for a European tender. The 18 municipalities, in fact, are working on an innovative initiative aimed at enhance the natural, cultural and artistic heritage of the municipalities involved and relaunch the local economy and tourism.
