Pistoia: Summer in the City 2024. Events including concerts, museums, parties and cinema.

The calendar appointments continue Summer in the City 2024: a program of events and reviews of various kinds to liven up the city until September, offering the possibility of choosing between initiatives of music, entertainment, cultural and sporting activities, exhibitions, entertainment, with activities involving all age groups.

Saturday August 31th
At 17.30 pm at Cireglio Castle, for the cycle Reading, telling, meeting… in the summer within the program of events for the twentieth anniversary of the death of Tiziano Terzani, the presentation of Ambra Tuci's book "Ancient cures and small magic: traditional healers in Pistoia and in the Apennine Tuscany" (Ametista Association, 2021). Initiative curated by the San Giorgio Library in collaboration with the Onore e Lavoro 1880 Society and the Policarpo Petrocchi Literary Park (info: sangiorgio@comune.pistoia.it).

At 18 pm in the Monteoliveto Park the 4th Edition of Quattroruote in Montuliveto, a vintage car rally, organized by the Amici di Montuliveto association, Veteran Club Pistoia, ACI

At 21.30 pm in Piazza del Duomo, the Grand Summer Ball with the Orchestra Magazin, an evening of music and dance of the socialization project of the Municipality of Pistoia "Socialmente" dedicated to the elderly. The initiative, free of charge, is organized by the Department of Social Inclusion Policies in collaboration with the associations of the "Socialmente" project (info: Anzianinforma 0573 505243, with the possibility of requesting free transport for citizens over 60).

Sunday 1st September
As every first Sunday of the month it is planned #Domenicalmuseo. From 11am to 19pm the Civic Museum of Ancient Art, the Spedale del Ceppo Museum, the Museum of the Twentieth Century and Contemporary Art of Palazzo Fabroni they are open with free admission thanks to the initiative of the Ministry of Culture which provides free entry to Italian museums and cultural sites.

Friday 6th September (from 16pm to 22pm), Saturday 7th September (from 10am to 22pm) and Sunday 8th September (from 10am to 20pm) The Park Festival – IV edition will take place in Castello di Cireglio. Organized by Castel di Cireglio APS. Free entry.

In the Porta al Borgo arena (via delle Pentole 4), the last two films scheduled for this summer, curated by Mabuse Cinema in collaboration with the Municipality of Pistoia. The film is scheduled for Saturday 31 August “Io Capitano” by Matteo Garrone and Sunday 1st September “The Animal Kingdom” by Thomas Cailley. Film starts at 21.30 pm.

The Summer in the City 2024 calendar was drawn up by the Municipal Administration and contains, among other things, many initiatives by cultural, sports and recreational associations, private individuals, foundations and trade associations, to promote the many activities scheduled and encourage participation.
