Photo Competition: «The courage to donate, the courage to choose life».

The national photography competition «The courage to donate, the courage to choose life» announced, promoted and organized by AIPAMM OdV – Italian Association of Patients with Myeloproliferative Diseases – is dedicated to Donatella Giagnori.

Donatella Giagnori

Graduated in geography, she initially specialized in travel photography. In photojournalism, to which she has dedicated herself intensely within the EIDON agency, she has transferred the curiosity and precision that have always characterized her style.
Donatella Giagnori was the photographer of the Popes Benedict XVI and Francis and through her shots, chosen as covers for numerous international magazines, she was able to convey the charm of the iconography of the religious rites that fascinated her so much. She loved the majesty of Roman Baroque, the suggestion of sacred vestments, but she was capable of rendering evocative images of apparently everyday environments, such as the shots of a deserted and desolate Rome during Covid.
The theme of the competition «The courage to donate, the courage to choose life» was inspired by a quote from Pope Francis «the source code of common living» and defines the meaning of the Gift with extraordinary effectiveness.
The presentation of the competition took place at the AIPAMM conference on 25 November 2022. Participation in the competition is free and is reserved for people over the age of 18 at the time of participation.

Participants can send to the email address info@aipamm.it up to a maximum of 3 photographs together with the completion of the participation application on the official Aipamm website from 10 January 2023 to 15 April 2023.
The subject or object photographed is the artist's free choice. Each participant declares to be the owner of the rights to the work and authorizes Aipamm OdV to publish their photograph on the competition's Facebook page, on the website www.aipamm.it without having anything to expect.

The prize will be subject to evaluation by a jury of experts and a popular jury who will express their preferences by voting through the Facebook Social Network.

All participating photographs will be published on the competition's Facebook page. Each photograph can be voted for for 30 days via the «Vote» button.

The Jury will be composed of n. 09 members who will evaluate the photographs received.
The competition includes the assignment of n. 3 prizes to the first place winners, the names of the winners will be announced during an event that will take place in June 2023 and where the prizes will be awarded.

At the end of the competition, Aipamm OdV will communicate to all participants the date and place of the final event. The selected authors will also be notified by telephone or via email notification. The results will be made public on the Aipamm.it website, on the page dedicated to the competition and on the competition Facebook page.
