Pesaro: Maria Cafagna presents “Bad Teachers” as part of Incontri Capitali.
Television, its models and the role that various protagonists of the small screen have had in creating a specific female imaginary. These are the themes of Maria Cafagna's new book "Bad teachers. Technicolor women who influenced an entire generation" published by Sperling&Kupfer. The author will talk about it on Wednesday 27 November at Pesaro 2024 as part of the 'Incontri capitali' event in dialogue with the editorial consultant Antonino Di Gregorio (18.00:XNUMX pm, City Council Hall).
Pages that are a series of portraits: from Ambra Angiolini, a young talent from the cult program of the 90s 'Non è la Rai', to Belén Rodríguez, synonymous with sensuality and beauty; from the 'queen' of TV Maria De Filippi, to the biting Ilary Blasi up to the comic, committed and original style of Paola Cortellesi. The book retraces the stories of these female figures also through the words of journalists, writers, psychologists and popularizers who, just like the author, grew up in front of the same models, made familiar by the television medium. Cafagna thus offers us an interesting and personal exploration of the language of entertainment from the Nineties to today, explaining, without any pretension of judgment, how those “bad teachers” played a role, for better or for worse, in shaping an entire generation.
