Occhiuto and Princi presented the DSA Project “Learning Together”, financed with 25 million euros: “an important goal, a fine example of institutional synergy”.
The president of the Region, Roberto Occhiuto, and the vice-president with responsibility for education, Giusi Princi, presented the project of the regional departments of health protection and education, "Learning together", financed with 25 million euros, which provides the early identification of support actions in the field of specific learning disabilities (DSA).
The meeting with the press at the headquarters of the regional Citadel was attended, among others, by the extraordinary commissioner of Azienda Zero, Gandolfo Miserendino, the general directors, or their representatives, of the provincial companies of Catanzaro and Vibo, Reggio Calabria, Cosenza, Crotone, the regional directors Tommaso Calabrò (Health Protection Department) and Maria Francesca Gatto (Education Department), the director of the Regional School Office, Antonella Iunti, representatives of professional associations and trade associations.
The vice president also recalled that “the Calabria Region has allocated 9 million euros to activate the figure of the school psychologist who will have the task of supporting students, school workers and families. Today, therefore - he concluded -, for me, for President Occhiuto and I believe for all of you, is an important day because, as we promised you, we have identified the resources and we are giving structural continuity to this project which will allow us - he concluded – to achieve significant goals for our students and their families. As a woman from the institutions and the world of school, as a mother, I therefore thank all those involved for their strong choral and synergistic contribution".
Director Iunti spoke of “a project that distinguishes Calabria, even in comparison with the other Regions, which achieves what is fundamentally the main objective of the 2030 Agenda. We as the school office have only acted as spokespersons for a project strongly supported by President Occhiuto and the vice-president Princi, whom I also thank for having deployed important resources. A project that will be able to give concrete help to the school, but above all to families and, in particular, puts the student at the centre, understanding what the real needs are with respect, obviously, to his situation, allowing him to overcome difficulties and achieve successes training and his life".
