National competition for schools “Environment and legality – Together for the future”, promoted by Legambiente together with the Carabinieri on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the presentation of the first report on the eco-mafia.

"Environment and legality – Together for the future” is the title of the national competition for lower and upper secondary schools promoted by Legambiente, in collaboration with the Carabinieri, on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the first presentation of the report on eco-mafias, which took place in Rome on 5 December 1994, developed together with the Eurispes research institute.

The objective is to enrich the thirty-year anniversary celebration event with the prizegiving of some works carried out by the classes during the 2023-2024 school year on theme of education on environmental legality: from compliance with the rules on environmental protection to good practices of responsible citizenship, with particular regard to the reporting of illegal phenomena damaging the environment, biodiversity, ecosystems and animals (art. 9 of the Constitution).

The competition is aimed at students from first and second classes of lower secondary schools and from the first to fourth year of upper secondary schools. Individual classes or groups of students belonging to one or more classes of the same institute can participate in the competition. Participants will be able to apply by choosing one of the two macro-categories: a) video (services; video clips; video summaries of theatrical and musical performances, flash mobs, creation of murals, etc.); b) publications (paper articles and/or investigations, production of online texts, panel exhibitions).

Each class will be able to participate by bringing more works. For each project it is necessary to send the online participation form, the project and any releases for consent to data processing, the document via email or wetransfer to scuola.formazione@legambiente.it by June 30 2024

The evaluation of the entries will be carried out by a jury, made up of representatives of Legambiente and the Carabinieri, on the basis of and in compliance with the following criteria: correctness and relevance to the theme, creativity and originality, incisiveness of the message.

For each school level, 2 works will be awarded, one for each of the two macro-categories.
