“Musicattraverso”: FORM’s new symphonic season conquers the Marche and beyond.

Seventy concerts in just 4 and a half months and in 23 different locations, from north to south and from the sea to the mountains, in the Marche and outside the region, with the new season of the FORM-Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana: Musicattraverso. Presented in the Region by the Councilor for Culture Chiara Biondi, by the President of FORM Fabrizio del Gobbo and by the artistic director Francesco di Rosa, while in connection there were the administrators of the Municipalities of Ancona and Fabriano and the Vice President of FORM Ezio Maria Tisi.

"The proposal of the FORM-Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana with the evocative title Musicattraverso is of the highest quality - comments the regional councilor for Culture Chiara Biondi - and it is a source of pride for me to be able to list the data of this new season: seventy concerts performed in 4 and a half months and spread throughout 23 municipalities of the Marche covering the entire territory. Seventeen programs with conductors and soloists of international importance that cross different eras, genres and styles, going beyond the boundaries of symphonic music with dance and cinema (a cultural segment that deserves attention and that is flourishing again in the Marche). A lively and extensive activity for the FORM, Italian Orchestral Concert Institution among the thirteen recognized by the Ministry of Culture, established by the Marche Region that wanted it and continues to strongly support it, also due to my strong commitment, because we recognize its great cultural value in the 'land of music'. And it confirms itself as such, not only for having given birth to extraordinary composers who have distinguished themselves throughout history everywhere in the world but also for the musical activity and for the continuous research of the highest quality. The FORM, which for the specificity of its role, for the many professional figures it involves and for the importance of the three main objectives it sets itself: management of the Orchestra, development and diffusion of musical culture in the Marche and realization of concerts of national and international level, is a fundamental component of the cultural system of the Marche that excites, attracts and enriches the life of the community. I am convinced that this season will be exciting, full of harmony and beauty≫.

Goes on FORM President Del Gobbo: ≪Musicattraverso is a title that can be interpreted in different ways: through the places where our Filarmonica Marchigiana will perform concerts, even beyond the Marche region; through generations of audiences; through space and time, in this 2025 when we will celebrate the fortieth anniversary of this Orchestra.≫.

Seventeen programs, traced by the artistic director Francesco Di Rosa, first oboe of the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, with conductors and soloists of great international standing who cross different eras, genres and styles, even going beyond the boundaries of symphonic music with dance and cinema.

"We will touch many centers in our region and also push beyond the border - he claims the artistic director Di Rosa - collaborating with prestigious and historic institutions. We will open the Musical Evenings of January 2025 Milano (first ever presence of the FORM), then the season organized by the Friends of Music of Foligno, we will play at the closing concert of the program of the Music and Theater Society "Primo Riccitelli" of Teramo and at the Montepulciano Festival during Easter week≫.

The 2025 symphony season is characterised by the extraordinary presence of the Oscar winner Nicola Piovani, who will conduct our Orchestra in the performance of some suites of his very famous soundtracks composed for cult films, from Life is Beautiful to Fellini's films.

From a great artist to another great artist, also linked to cinema, with Homage to Nino Rota, refined composer whose suite of music written for Fellini we will listen to, the concerto for strings and the one for trombone and orchestra performed by Enzo Turriziani, solo trombone of the Wiener Philharmoniker. The conductor will be Roberto Molinelli, to whom FORM has commissioned a work for trombone and orchestra that will be presented as a world premiere.

For dance there is Romeo and Juliet, conducted by the Swiss maestro Matthias Bamert, an internationally renowned composer and conductor. which is being performed for the first time in Italy. The audience will be able to appreciate the two most famous orchestral compositions dedicated to the immortal pair of lovers: Tchaikovsky's Overture-Fantasia and excerpts from Prokofiev's three suites, preceded by Carl Maria von Weber's Invitation to the Dance.

The program will also feature other conductors and soloists of great international standing, starting with two artists in residence: pianist Alexander Lonquich and cellist Luigi Piovano. Both will perform in two different programs.

Lonquich will perform Schumann (Piano Concerto) and Mendelssohn (Italian Symphony No. 4) in January, while in February Mozart (Symphony No. 1 and Symphony No. 41 Jupiter) and Beethoven (Piano Concerto No. 4). Piovano will be the conductor and soloist in March in the emotional tribute to Ezio Bosso, a musician who had a strong bond with Francesco Di Rosa and with the FORM, with whom he played as conductor and soloist in what was his last concert: Piovano will play Seasong n. 2: The Sea Prayer, for cello and strings composed by the extraordinary pianist. In April, instead, the first solo cello of the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia will conduct Mozart's Requiem, absent for some years from the FORM programs, performed with the participation of the Soloists of the Accademia di Arte Lirica di Osimo and the Coro Giovanile delle Marche.

Also alternating on the podium will be Albrecht Mayer, oboe soloist of the Berliner Philharmoniker, Carlo Boccadoro (who composed a commissioned work FORM – Serenata – which we will hear in its world premiere in March), Manlio Benzi, Davide Trolton, Stefano Romani, David Crescenzi, Maurizio Colasanti and Jacopo Rivani. Among the soloists Fabrizio Meloni, clarinet soloist of the Teatro alla Scala (he will perform the Concerto for clarinet and orchestra that Carlo Boccadoro composed for him), Anna Tifu, Emilio Aversano, Ludovica Rana, Yume Zamponi (violinist who lives in the Marche, First Prize at the Postacchini Competition 2024).

The 2025 Season program, which begins as per tradition with the New Year's Concert dedicated in particular to the king of waltzes Johann Strauss on the 200th anniversary of his birth, will be completed with Vita d'Eroe, a titanic concert of music by Wagner and Richard Strauss created in collaboration with the Conservatories of Pesaro and Fermo.

A family concert and a concert for school audiences entitled Nature in Music will be reserved for the new generations, with 8 performances in different locations in our region.

Confirmed and expanded collaborations with the most important musical institutions in the Marche region, including the Society of Friends of Music “Guido Michelli” of Ancona, the Concert Organization of Pesaro, the Appassionata Musical Association of Macerata, the Friends of Music of Montegranaro.
