Monterosso: Pietro Senaldi receives the 14th Cinque Terre Journalism Award.

Delivered to Pietro Senaldi, late this afternoon at the Buranco farmhouse, the Cinque Terre 2024 Journalism Award. The co-director of Libero – commentator on various television programmes broadcast on Rai, Mediaset, La7 and Sky – took part in the meeting/debate in Monterosso, at the end of which received the authoritative recognition and also some bottles of the prized Sciacchetrà, produced by the local farm.

On stage with him, Francesco Del Vigo, deputy director of the Giornale, the head of the La Spezia editorial team of the Secolo XIX Paolo Ardito and the journalist from La Nazione Marco Magi. After the greetings of the mayor of Monterosso Francesco Sassarini and Luigi Grillo, host in Buranco, space for dialogue between journalists who discussed – in front of a large and attentive audience, inside the amphitheatre among lemons, vines and olive trees – current issues at national and local level, also focusing on the specificity of the profession.

We would like to remind you that the jury of the Cinque Terre Journalism Award – an event conceived and promoted by the Association of Friends of the Cinque Terre with president Luigi Grillo – has been chaired, since this fourteenth edition, by Francis Of Vigo, and is also composed of the editor-in-chief of Qn, La Nazione, Il Resto del Carlino, Il Giorno and Il Telegrafo Agnese Pini, the editor of Primocanale Maurizio Rossi, the head of the La Spezia editorial team of Secolo XIX Paolo Ardito, as well as the editorialist of Corriere della Sera Antonio Polito.

“I have been in this beautiful region for three months – Senaldi explains – following the Toti case. I consider this recognition a reward for my work, a commitment that has been appreciated and it now has a 'certified' journalistic value. I know Liguria well, where I was welcomed very well. Great professionals and kind people, the colleagues who helped me and made themselves available for my investigation. Liguria is a very important region from many points of view. First of all because it is the mirror of the 'broad field' linked to the left: if it doesn't even work in Liguria, the land of Beppe Grillo, why should it ever do so at a national level?".

“A prestigious award that we wanted to give to a significant journalist like Pietro Senaldi – says Del Vigo – who fought hard in various fields, including for the Liguria Region in the last year. His positions have been important at the national and local level."

“From this year onwards, we will dedicate the Cinque Terre Journalism Award – Luigi Grillo declares with emotion – to the late Gianni Del Santo, a journalist from La Spezia for Tirreno and for 30 years correspondent from La Spezia for Tuttosport, has a special meaning for me: it was him, when I was 18, who encourage me to join the Christian Democracy, thus starting my political career. I would also like to thank Fondazione Cariplo and Fondazione Carispezia once again for their contribution and fundamental support to the Cinque Terre Journalism Award”.
