President Fontana: "Whatever happens, it will be a success, preferably with red and black colours." Superstitious Nerazzurri: Milan will win.
Milano, the regional council plays the Champions League derby: AC Milan and Inter fans agree that it will be a great showcase for Lombardy.
“Whatever happens, though Milano and Lombardy will be a success. Obviously, as a Rossoneri, I hope Milan prevails. One of our teams will still be in the Champions League final, something that hasn't happened for many, too many years." The President of the Region, Attilio Fontana, thus opens what can be defined as the 'Lombardy Council Derby'. The reply from Gianluca Comazzi, councilor for the Territory, who is even president of the Inter club of the Region, was immediate: "We are all eagerly awaiting, these important matches mark a great victory for Milano and Lombardy. Obviously, as an Inter fan, with inevitable superstition, I say that Milan will win easily...". Ruggero Invernizzi, Undersecretary for Digitalisation, is on the same wavelength: “Generally in the derby the weakest team always wins and therefore Milan. But I am confident that we will reverse the trend with an Inter success." Guido Guidesi, councilor for economic development, is also a great Inter fan: "Fortunately we will have a team from our region in the final, even better if they wear the Nerazzurri colours." Vice President Marco Alparone is responsible for rekindling the Rossoneri colors: "Milano it's red and black, Lombardy is red and black: I've had this shirt in my heart all my life. However, it will be important for a team from our region to become European champion." Lapidary Francesca Caruso, Councilor for Culture: "My hope is that Milan wins, in any case it will be a triumph for Lombardy."
Raffaele Cattaneo, heart of the Nerazzurri and undersecretary for International Relations, starts from his delegation to highlight how "Milano and Lombardy will be protagonists of a very important European event. That this happens between two of our teams is a sign of the great international projection of our city and our region."
The last line, for what is certainly a heart-pounding challenge, can only fall to the Welfare councilor, Guido Bertolaso. “It will be a beautiful match – comments the councilor, a huge fan of Roma and José Mourinho – and we must be proud of the presence of these two teams in the semi-finals. May the best man win and I recommend to all those who will be at the stadium - he concludes with a joke - two drops of tranquilizer, so we will all be calmer”.
