Milano, the new edition of “Cinemadamare” starts
It stops at Milano for the fourth time the "Cinemadamare" exhibition now in its 22nd edition. For a week, 50 directors, actors and authors will talk Milano with their short films and will transform the neighborhoods of Milano on a film set. The first Milanese stop is the Gratosoglio district.

Yesterday, Monday 8 July, the Milanese stage of Cinemadamare kicked off, event organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Milano and the support of the Cariplo Foundation which reaches its 22nd edition this year.
This is the largest itinerant production and training campus for cinematography and audiovisual that every summer starts from Rome and travels 10 thousand km for three months., stopping with his caravan of young filmmakers in various regions of Italy, with a final stage, in September, in France.
For a week, over 50 young filmmakers (directors, actors and actresses, authors) coming from dozens of different countries they will shoot short films in which they will tell stories Milano starting from the Gratosoglio district where the activities will be based.
The initiative, which is touching Milano for the fourth time, was presented yesterday morning at Palazzo Reale, during the "Production Meeting", which they have the councilor for Youth Policies Martina Riva took part, the director of Cinemadamare Franco Rina, the deputy director of Art and Culture of the Cariplo Foundation Andrea Rebaglio and Cristina Medina, teacher of the Madrid Film School, the Centro Integrado de Formaction Professional, who at the end of the press conference he held a free workshop open to all.
"Again Milano is happy to welcome Cinemadamare and its young filmmakers. It is a commitment that demonstrates our commitment to professional growth and training. This year the Gratosoglio neighborhood was chosen as the starting point for the story Milano and its history that continues to hold together tradition and innovation, international vocation and sense of community” – commented councilor Martina Riva.
"When we are at Milano, our Format can produce all its most incisive effects: making young filmmakers from all over the world work with their peers and colleagues, who live in Milano, and promote, through our films, the territory in which we set up our sets (in this edition: the Gratosoglio district and surrounding areas). Thanks to the support of the Cariplo Foundation, and the welcome of the Municipality of Milano, therefore, we are at Milano, city of study and training, for the fourth consecutive year" - commented Franco Rina, director of Cinemadamare.
"Fondazione Cariplo has decided to renew its support for Cinemadamare because it is a very original initiative, capable of combining the promotion of youth creativity and the valorisation of the territories and communities that host the various stages of the journey"- commented Giovanni Azzone, President of the Cariplo Foundation.
The cinematographic and audiovisual products created during this week will be screened on the evening of 12 July at the final event of Cinemadamare 2024 in Milano.
For the occasion, in the area of the Oratory Santa Maria Madre della Chiesa in via Saponaro 28, will be an outdoor arena will be set up and, at the end, the most deserving works will be rewarded.
