The works at the Lambretta Park will end in the summer of next year, the total surface area of the park will increase to around 100 thousand square meters with the creation of new greenery and lawns, including raised ones, which will run along the banks of the canals. Also planned is the creation of new rows of trees on the avenues, orchards, tree stands and water gardens, natural phyto-purification meadows which will also be able to offer educational experiences. These are works financed thanks to the Pnrr which will make available 38 million euros out of a total of 40,2 million to complete the work.

As regards the "Magnifica Fabbrica" project, the tender for the construction of the warehouses and works foreseen in the first lot is currently open. Thanks to the International Design Competition in the past months, the project for the regeneration of the area was identified.

The Magnificent Factory will be a volume of wood and steel 25,2 meters high for 66.778 m28,8 of surface area, divided into four spans of XNUMX meters in length, where all the laboratories will be brought together (which will have over 34 thousand m2.500 available), the rehearsal rooms, the tailor's workshops and the warehouses (over 4 container spaces are planned, stacked on 3 levels with 4 loading and unloading routes and XNUMX overhead crane lines), as well as multi-purpose and refreshment rooms.

In this first phase, the demolition of the façade of the former Innocenti factory has been completed and will be rebuilt, in agreement with the Superintendency of Fine Arts, and the area will be enhanced to remember the industrial past of Rubattino.

The first lot of the “Magnifica Fabbrica” project is financed through the Metropolitan Cities Operational Program (Pon Metro) and by the major works decree. The first batch of works was financed for a total amount of 25 million euros.

As part of the interventions planned at Rubattino, a new school will also be built in via Caduti in Missione di Pace with 15 classrooms that can accommodate up to 375 students with various multipurpose areas. The overall value of the project is 15,3 million of which 13,5 will be paid by Pnrr funds. In Via delle Rimembranze di Lambrate, however, a conservative renovation will be carried out of a building which will be intended for school use and will be able to accommodate 400 pupils. The works, in both schools, will be completed by summer 2026.

“The works at the Lambretta Park are progressing and will allow us to have a new, immense, green area in the Rubattino district from next summer – declare councilors Tancredi and Maran -. Thanks to the Magnifica Fabbrica project we will instead create a futuristic structure that will become the center of the Rubattino district, guaranteeing new spaces for the laboratories of the Teatro alla Scala.”
