Milano: Feminin Pluriel raises 20.000 euros for orphans of femicide and the suburbs of Naples.

The proceeds are twenty thousand euros of the charity event organized by Feminin Pluriel Italia – the international all-female network that promotes, among other things, activities aimed at the education, training and protection of women and children – which was held at the Grand Hotel et de Milan to raise funds for two different organizations with which the club has been actively collaborating for some time: Edela, an association supporting orphans of femicide in Italy and Est(ra)Moenia, an association created for the social and urban redevelopment of the peripheral area of Naples.

"This year we have chosen two associations- Said the president, the lawyer Diana Palomba - that deal with marginal realities such as orphans of femicide and these 150 kids from the outskirts of Naples, because to redevelop a territory you have to start from there, from the most disadvantaged suburbs (with the proceeds you will contribute to the construction of a basketball court). Politics and schools do too little to raise awareness on the issue of respect and inclusion. Feminicides are increasing, as we read in the news every day, and so are the orphans".

The godmother of the event was Ludmilla Voronkina Bozzetti, top model of international fame, protagonist, among many projects, of the exhibition “Through Her Eyes”, a journey in 40 black and white shots into the eternal feminine. “I am extremely happy and honored – Ludmilla said during the event – to be the godmother of this wonderful evening that allows me to raise awareness more and more towards the figure of the woman and her timeless strength that is in each of us. Thanks to the strength of unity we can do a lot of good: if you want to go far you have to go together".

The event welcomed many well-known faces from the social and cultural scene, all united by the common goal of raising funds for the Edela and Est(ra)Moenia associations. Among others, Rajae Bezzaz, recognized for her active commitment to women's and minority rights, expressed sincere thanks to Feminin Pluriel for the invitation to participate in this important initiative. “It's always nice – he said – and above all it is essential to support non-profit organizations like these, founded by women and committed to both women and children.".

Edela, led by President Dr. Roberta Beolchi together with a team of specialized professionals, protects and supports orphans of femicide, who are often also victims of witnessed violence. The association works concretely to guarantee those who are defined as "special" and "invisible" orphans for society and institutions, legal protection, psychological support but above all education, continuity in school and if they want also university or professional. The ongoing, passionate and fruitful partnership between Edela and Feminin Pluriel was born in 2018, and in these 6 years together they have supported numerous families and orphans, 63 to be exact, who continue brilliantly in universities and others, instead, hired by companies. Among the numerous actions carried out in collaboration to promote assistance between grandparents and orphaned children, we also remember the project "Fabbrichi(AMO)" which involved minors by having them enroll in special and expensive courses for families. The goal is to celebrate 10 years together and to have contributed to creating a normal life for all these children and young people orphaned by femicide, who have lost everything normal.

Est(ra) Moenia, an association of entrepreneurs, academics, companies, social workers, has as its project the cultural, social and urban redevelopment of the peripheral territory of Naples. The goal is to combat local problems such as school dropout, the flight of young people, the lack of security. The association carries out its activities by 'adopting' the territory, creating synergies with some associations involved in social work as in the case of Feminin Pluriel. In this specific case, the collaboration between the two entities will include financing for renovation works in favor of the structures of the Fondazione Famiglia di Maria, which operates in the territory of East Naples, in favor of minors and families who present socio-economic hardships. The Gala on October 25 will be an opportunity to support further upgrades to the Foundation, including the construction of an outdoor basketball court.

Feminin Pluriel, an international women's association founded in 1992 in France by Beatrice Lanson Villat, is now present in more than 18 countries around the world and has as its primary goal to create an international network of women to facilitate relationships and business, but also to give each of them the opportunity to share experiences, projects and to feel and be a "team". The Italian Chapter, founded by the lawyer. Diana Palomba, who is also its President, is a non-profit association: the proceeds from membership fees and events are in fact donated to activities aimed at the education, training and protection of women, children or to cultural and social projects.
