Milano Digital Week, over 200 events dedicated to innovation until October 14th
It starts on October 10th and runs until October 14th. seventh edition of the Milano Digital Week, the exhibition promoted by the Municipality of Milano with TIG – The Innovation Group with the title “The new language of the city. Between Artificial Intelligence and human expressions".
For the occasion, the city will host over 200 appointments in the context of Milano Digital Week. From institutions to businesses, from universities to startuppers: the protagonists of the digital scenario will offer insights and opportunities for discussion. Five non-stop days of initiatives, workshops, debates with free admission to build a dialogue and face the challenges of the future. The AI revolution (first recognitive, then generative and finally agentive) is, in fact, progressively redesigning public and private environments, work and entertainment experiences, mobility, healthcare, safety and sustainability services.
"La Milano Digital Week 2024 will also offer this year the opportunity to tell the story of the journey towards a more inclusive, sustainable and technologically advanced future – commented the mayor, Giuseppe Sala – that our city is taking, a path that we are happy to share with those who work in this sector and with the entire country. Technological innovation is essential to make cities increasingly dynamic, connected and citizen-friendly: Artificial Intelligence, Urban Digital Ecosystem, IT security, value-added services and digitalization of existing ones are at the same time topics to be explored and developed, but also strategic hubs of a transformation that Milano She is proud to drive.”
On the horizon, in fact, there is a new urbanism (and humanism) of cities. Increasingly animated with artificial and synthetic languages, enriched with incredible virtual and augmented panoramas, populated by unusual autonomous robotic inhabitants, cities are experimenting with their next, surprising urban condition by virtue of the arrival of urban artificial intelligences in constant dialogue with human creativity, expressiveness and professionalism.
In this new edition, which investigates the relationship between new digital languages and human languages, six thematic tracks have been developed: Digital for Business, Digital Citizenship, Smart City, Technologies, Culture and Entertainment, Work and Training.
"La Milano Digital Week 2024 represents an extraordinary opportunity – he said alessia cappello, Councilor for Economic Development and Labor Policies of the Municipality of Milano – to reflect on how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are transforming the way we live in the city and work. Investing in innovation means not only optimizing processes and improving the efficiency of services, but also projecting Milano towards a more dynamic, attractive and internationally competitive future. Digitalisation, however, goes beyond the technological aspect; it is also a social and cultural issue. It involves the creation of new skills and professions, together with a more flexible approach and in tune with people's needs. It is essential that this transformation occurs in an inclusive way, guaranteeing access to all, regardless of age or social background. Only in this way can we build a society in which technology is a real tool for integration and growth, generating new professional opportunities and promoting a sustainable future for Milano".
“From intelligent public transport, to efficient energy management, to the transformation of digital public services, Milano - he has declared Layla pavone, coordinator of the Board for Technological Innovation and Digital Transformation of the Municipality of Milano – is an example of how a city can use AI to be more sustainable, inclusive and citizen-friendly. A laboratory of new languages, but above all of new digital citizenship, which further extends the boundaries of a metropolis that has always been a crossroads of innovation and creativity. In this, Milano Digital Week renews the objectives for which the Administration promotes it and which it has defined in the Manifesto for Milano Digital: the contamination of skills and experiences, transparent and ethical participatory co-creation processes, universal and equal access to services based on knowledge”.
Giurisconsult Palace will play the role of central HUB with a schedule of events curated by the organizer TIG – The Innovation Group in collaboration with the Municipality of Milano and with mechanical Milano&Partners. Among the protagonists of the various meetings: Cosimo Accoto, tech philosopher, research affiliate and fellow (MIT Boston), adjunct professor (UNIMORE); Brando Benifei, MEP; Piero Poccianti, member of the Board of Directors, AIxIA and many others.
In addition, one of the novelties of the Milano Digital Week 2024 is the activation of the Knowledge Hub: thematic centers in locations spread throughout the city of Milano within which meetings and events will be organized for citizens and businesses.
