18.30 Online Conference | Between design and freedom, the Due Cavalli armchair is reborn

On the occasion of the re-edition of Codiceicona of the 1969 armchair, designed by Studio De Pas, D'Urbino, Lomazzi, a round table to tell the reasons that gave birth to the armchair, through the story of the Citroen 2CV. Guided tour of the retrospective dedicated to Gae Aulenti (1927-2012), one of the most representative figures of contemporary architecture and design. In over sixty years of career, the multifaceted designer has touched numerous fields: from urban scale design to exhibition design, from landscape architecture to interior design, from furniture design to graphics, up to theatrical scenography. The story of Gae Aulenti is presented in analytical and spectacular forms, to tell a personal way of seeing, imagining and designing the reality that has marked Italian and foreign contexts of the second half of the twentieth century. The exhibition itinerary is made up of environments in 1:1 scale, thanks to the original materials preserved in the architect's Milanese archive, including drawings, photographs and models.

Three-year Milano offers a guided tour to discover through the exhibition the work of Alessandro Mendini, architect, designer, artist and theorist who has marked the revolutions of thought and customs of the old century and the new millennium. The title of the exhibition I am a dragon takes inspiration from one of his most emblematic self-portraits to emphasize the uniqueness of his figure in the world of design. The exhibition is divided into thematic nuclei and brings together works of different formats, materials and subjects, works from numerous public and private collections and involves voices from all over the world.
18.30 Presentation of the book | Saudiscapes A polyphonic journey in Saudi Arabia

On the occasion of the release of the book Saudiscapes, authors Giovanna Silva and Emilia Giorgi, together with architect Andrea Schiattarella of Schiattarella Associati, discuss their journey through Saudi Arabia, captured in a work that blends photography, architecture and culture. The book explores the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah in the midst of their architectural and social transformation, through images and reflections on the traces of the past and new urban challenges. The event explores the relationship between memory, identity and urban development, combining artistic and professional perspectives to rethink the contexts in which architecture and landscape meet.

10.00 Laboratory | Dance Well – Research and movement for Parkinson's

Three-year Milano presents Dance Well: an initiative to promote the practice of contemporary dance in museum spaces and artistic contexts, which is aimed mainly, but not exclusively, at people living with Parkinson's. Classes are held every Thursday morning until the end of the year. Participation is open to all.

18.30 Presentation of the book | The right to Nature – for a new urban landscape

Presentation of the book by AG&P greenscape – a multidisciplinary laboratory of landscape architects – edited by members Emanuele Bortolotti and Paolo Palmulli with associate Alessandro Frigerio. Organized into seven central themes – green and blue infrastructures; regeneration; public space; living; green welfare; heritage and care – the volume explores the challenges of the contemporary urban landscape, focusing on the interaction between man and nature and examining the link between urban development and ecological awareness. 19.15 Meeting | Beyond Mars, back to Planet Earth

Unlike Mars, Earth supports life. However, our understanding of life and healthy existence is partial. We focus on humans, neglecting our interdependence with nature. During the meeting, a new philosophy of design is explored, moving from human-centered to life-centered design, showing how this perspective can promote resilience that integrates natural and built environments, improving the health of ecosystems and communities.

Press presentation of the exhibition Le stelle per te, dentro – an original installation specifically conceived by Gianni Politi (Rome, 1986) for the spaces of the Triennale, in which new works are in dialogue with previous series –, curated by Damiano Gullì, curator for Contemporary Art and Public program of the Triennale.

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, Triennale Milano organizes special guided tours of the retrospective dedicated to Gae Aulenti (1927-2012). The tours focus on the heritage contained in the Triennale archives Milano, with materials that recount two historic participations of Aulenti during the International Exhibitions of 1960 and 1964.

21.00 Show | Nomadic. Singing for Biodiversity – Telmo Pievani and Gianni Maroccolo

The show, part of the program leading up to the 24th International Exhibition Inequalities (May – November 2025), explores human and animal migratory routes, inviting us to overcome mental and physical barriers and to recognize diversity as a wealth and source of resilience. With the sounds of CSI, Philip Glass, Litfiba, Claudio Rocchi, Marlene Kuntz, Gianni Maroccolo, PGR & Franco Battiato, the show represents an immersive experience that reminds us of the importance of looking at our migratory past to face the challenges of the present and future with a new perspective.
