Milano: City of women. The itinerary in the museums and the walk to discover and talk about the great female figures of the city.

Today, on the occasion of March 8th, the initiatives organized by the Municipality of Milano continue with a day dedicated to Milanese female figures in the history, art, science and life of the city.
The civic museums will be free for all women, Milanese and tourists, who would like to visit them perhaps following the itinerary proposed for this particular day, entitled: "Milano City of Women". You will pass through streets, monuments, murals and works of art in sixteen stages: seven museums (Museum of the Twentieth Century, Gam-Gallery of Modern Art, Palazzo Morando, Mudec–Museum of Cultures, Archaeological Museum, Museum of the Risorgimento); the Monumental Cemetery where to discover the stories of the great women of the past; monuments dedicated to women (piazza Castello, via Vittor Pisani, piazza Belgiojoso, Parco CityLife and Largo Richini); the murals with the faces of the partisan relays of the Resistance, Angela and Lia and the women of the 900th century (via Sammartini and via Graziano Imperatore and via Trentacoste).
A journey that will touch on ancient and more recent stories, conquests and memories like the stumbling blocks placed to remember the women of all ages deported to concentration camps.

The active protagonists of this day of walking for women and with women will be the councilors Arianna Censi (Mobility), Elena Grandi (Environment and Green), Gaia Romani (Civic Services) and some city councilors. The President of the City Council, Elena Buscemi, the Mayor's delegate for Gender Equal Opportunities, Elena Lattuada and Claudia Buccellati, association Pietre d'Inciampo, will also participate.

At 11 am, in piazza Belgiojoso, the walk-story of the female figures will begin: Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso, Pippa Bacca, Lea Garofalo, Gae Aulenti, Ersilia Bronzini Majno, Emanuela Setti Carraro, Maria Teresa and Gaetana Agnesi, Alda Merini, Antonia Frigerio Conte, Anna Stepanovna Politkovskaja, Margherita Hack and Camilla Cederna. Others will be remembered together with them 47 including writers, journalists, poets, scientists, partisans, women in institutions and politics, benefactors and artists. Mothers, wives, daughters, companions, women.

The walk will end at 14.15pm in Largo Richini and Giardini Camilla Cederna near the statue of Margherita Hack with his gaze turned to the stars in the sky.
