“Art and creativity are an excellent communication tool and this is why we asked 13 internationally renowned artists to help us tell, through their works, the potential of such a noble and versatile material as glass – said Gianni Scotti, President of Coreve, inaugurating the exhibition. “Infinitely recyclable, glass can take on the most diverse shapes and colours, is suitable for industrial and artistic works and is one of man's oldest artefacts. It is no coincidence that the name of the exhibition originates from the first known evidence of glass recycling, namely the Roman wreck discovered in 1986, near Grado, by a fisherman at 16 meters deep on the seabed. The vessel dated to the XNUMXnd century AD, known as Julia Felix, was an emblematic case of redistribution and reuse trade. The ship was carrying fragments of glass, destined to be remelted to create new glass by artisans in nearby Aquileia. Recasting was, even then, considered an economically advantageous practice. This exhibition aims to create an ideal connection between that ancient discovery, art and the future potential in the use of glass, underlining the importance of recycling this noble material.” - ha Scotti concluded
