Milano: sport, cinema and TV protagonists at Palazzo Lombardia from 5 to 9 November
The 42nd edition of Milano International FICTS Fest, scheduled from the 5 9 November in Testori Auditorium at Palazzo Lombardia. ‘Sports Movies & TV 2024' is the Final of 20 Festivals (in the 5 Continents) of the 'World FICTS Challenge'World Championship of Television, Cinema, Communication and Sports Culture.
The event is held in collaboration with the Lombardy Region and the Foundation Milano Cortina 2026.
The President of the Lombardy Region spoke at the press conference Attilio Fontana, the Undersecretary to the Presidency with responsibility for Sport and Youth Federica Peaks, the president of Coni Lombardia Marco Riva, the communications manager of the Winter Olympics Milano Cortina Andrew Monti and the organizer, Prof. Franco Ascani President of FICTS (Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs) and member of the IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Heritage.
“It is a source of pride for us – the governor of Lombardy underlined Fontana – to host in our headquarters, again this year, an event as important and international as 'Sport Movies & Tv'. This is a winning way and model to promote sport through images, which is certainly something particularly fascinating”.
Two special guests were also present at the press conference, Javier Zanetti (vice president of Inter) and Fabio Capello (coach and sports commentator) awarded by President Ascani for their merits acquired during prestigious years of career with a special Ficts plaque.
The Festival – with the participation of 130 Nations – boasts the collaboration of the Lombardy Region and the Foundation Milano Cortina 2026 and is part of the Cultural Olympics of Milano Cortina 2026, a multidisciplinary, plural and widespread programme to promote Olympic and Paralympic values through culture, heritage and sport.
“More than 100 countries are participating in this event. The combination of sport, cinema and TV – highlighted the undersecretary Picchi – manages to go beyond competitiveness and also give voice to all those values that sport teaches: the value of preparation, sacrifice, loyalty”.
'Sport Movies & Tv 2024' in 5 days also hosts an interesting exhibition, set up in the spaces of the foyer of Nucleus 3 of Palazzo Lombardia, a training course for journalists dedicated to 'Sports image: rules and professional ethics', the Paralympic International Movies & Tv Fest, meetings with Olympic and Paralympic champions, athletes and directors, awards ceremonies for national and international guests.

It is a precious expression of esteem that we will certainly be able to convey to the delegations and international guests who will take turns during the days in which the Festival takes place”.
