Milano, Palazzo Lombardia: President Fontana at the opening ceremony “SPORT MOVIES & TV 2024”

The president of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana intervenes today, Tuesday 5 November, at the opening ceremony of 'SPORT MOVIES & TV 2024 – 42nd Milano international fiction festival' in the program from 17 at the Testori Auditorium of Palazzo Lombardia.

Together with the professor Franco Ascani (member of the IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Heritage), organizer of the festival, great sports champions will participate such as the pilot Jean Alesi, the former world cycling champion Gianni bugno, the former Italian soccer world champion Antonio Cabrini, the paralympic athlete giusy versace and some of the athletes who won medals at the Paris Olympics.

Organized in collaboration with the Lombardy Region and the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, the event is characterised by a large international participation and will be divided into 200 Screenings selected from 1.450 participating works (including 25 world and European premieres, exclusive Olympic images), 4 Meetings, 3 Workshops, 4 Exhibitions, 8 Related Events, the Paralympic International Movies & Tv Fest and 20 Awards Ceremony for national and international guests.

Themed days are also scheduled: 'Smart guys' in which at least one person will take part 42.000 students, Of which over 30.000 from 70 schools Milano and 11.000 from 32 schools in Veneto.

A real 'gets underwayFestival of Olympic Images' with a 'special showcase' dedicated to the 'Games' with the best images of all time towards Paris 2024 and Milano Cortina 2026 with the exciting performances of 985 Champions on the screen.

They will be present national and international guests from the world of sport, cinema, television and journalism.

The Festival is presented within the framework of the Cultural Olympiad of Milano Cortina 2026, a multidisciplinary, plural and widespread program to promote Olympic and Paralympic values ​​through culture, heritage and sport.

'SPORT MOVIES & TV' is organized with the contribution of the Ministry for Sport and Youth and of the Icsc – Institute for Cultural Sports Credit, with the patronage of the European Commission, the Municipality of Milano, Sport and Health, Coni and Cip.
