Messina, the “PALLIUM 2022”: the palliative care awareness campaign.

Represented by the Municipality of Messina, “PALLIUM 11” will take place on Friday 17.30th, at 2022 pm, in the premises of Santa Maria Alemanna., At the Palliative care day,  a campaign aimed at raise awareness of the rights and needs of incurably ill patients and their families, organized by the Consortium of Social Cooperatives SISIFO.

They will be the Mayor Federico Basile; the Metropolitan Archbishop of Messina, Lipari and Santa Lucia del Mela, SE REV. MGR. Giovanni Accolla, the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Messina, Lipari and Santa Lucia del Mela, SE REV. MONS Cesare Di Pietro; the Presidents of the Order of Doctors, Surgeons and Dentists of Messina, Giacomo Caudo of the Board of Directors of the Messina Social City, Valeria Asquini of the III Council Commission of the Municipality of Messina and Emilia Rotondo of the Giuseppe Picciolo SISIFO Consortium to offer the institutional greeting.

During the event, moderated by Maurizio Rotondo, multiple interventions by professionals in the sector will be presented, as well as testimonies.

They are a right guaranteed by Law 38/2010 palliative care; free and even at home. They allow the protection of the quality of life of the incurable patient and his family and they are not just end-of-life care.
