Messina, “Giochi Senza Quartiere” 2023 edition kicks off.
A Messina starting line of the second edition of “Games Without Neighborhood” 2023 Edition, with a renewed and substantial program of activities and sports practice in the name of rediscovering the bond with the territory to which one belongs, where the key words are: fun, friendship and fraternization between all the young participants.
“Giochi Senza Quartiere” is a public recreational event, aimed at children and young people under 35, organized by the Municipality of Messina in synergy with the six Municipalities, which is part of an intense work of collaboration and development of a territorial network, aimed at implementing an "educating community" in the City through which lifestyles are promoted oriented towards participation, psychophysical well-being and inclusion.
The municipal administration, therefore, intends to create with the start of activities from next weekend a fixed annual event involving children and young people residents/domiciled throughout the municipal territory.
Below is the calendar of the event, with times and places:
- IV Municipality – Saturday 30 September starting at 15.00 pm, at Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Casa Pia
- VI Municipality – Sunday 1 October starting at 9.30 am, at the Massa San Giovanni Village Sports Field
- I Municipalities – Saturday 7 October starting at 15.00 pm, at the Circolo U. Fiore – Giampilieri Marina
- III Municipality – Sunday 8 October starting at 9.30 am, in the Rione Annibale – Santo Bordonaro (Case Gialle)
- II Municipality – Saturday 14 October starting at 15.00 pm, at the Cep Village, via dei Gelsomini next to IC “G. Catalfamo" (if the weather conditions are adverse, the PalaMerlino adjacent to the aforementioned school will be used)
- V Municipality – Sunday 15 October starting at 09.30, at Villa Sabin and Piazza Castronovo (under the arcades)
The sporting activities that will take place in the first phase in the six Municipalities are: Scalp ball; Race to the square; Sack race; Tug of war; Darts; Basketball – 3-point shots; Table football; Sitting Volleyball; Padel; is Giant chessboard.
The finalinstead, it will take place at Villa Dante Sunday 22 October starting at 9.30am, where in addition to the sporting activities of the first phase, they are also planned Bubble football, Tennis and swimming relay.
The winning Municipality will be given the trophy which it will have the right to display at the institutional headquarters until the start day of the next edition. The winning Municipality will be engraved on the trophy, year after year. Should a Municipality win three editions, even if not consecutive, it will have the right to permanently keep the trophy. It will be the responsibility of the municipal administration to replace it for subsequent editions.
Each participating Municipality will be rewarded with a commemorative plaque of the edition in which it participated.
