Messina: Film Clubs Festival at the Lux Cinema.
From Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th November, The Cinema Clubs Festival will open at the Lux Cinema in Messina. The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Messina and promoted by the Cineforum Orione of Messina, It is produced in collaboration with the Italian Federation of Cinema Clubs and its regional branch FICC – Sicily.
The Festival will be inaugurated on Friday 22nd November, at 18.30pm, with the award for best Italian documentary on Cinema 2024, given to Antonietta De Lillo for “L'occhio della gallina”. The director, who will be present, will be awarded by the president of the Festival's Scientific Committee Franco Cicero.
It will open on Saturday 23 November with the conference “Stati Generali dei Cineclub in Sicilia”, organized by the national associations of cinematographic culture FICC – CINIT – CSC and by the Cinestudio association, with the aim of laying the foundations for building a common and alternative platform for the promotion of cinema and the education of the audience.
At the end of the conference, at 17 pm, it is scheduled the screening of “The man who gave voice to cinema”, by Rocco Ioppolo, Giuseppe Scionti and Giuseppe Ferrarolo, a documentary that tells the story of Giovanni Rappazzo from Messina, who fought all his life to have his paternity of the invention of sound in cinematographic projections recognized. At 21 pm there will be a celebratory event to mark the historic milestone of 70 years since the birth of the Lux cinema.
Followed by a screening of “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” by Giuseppe Tornatore. The final day of Sunday, November 24 will be opened by the Festival il Cineclub dei Piccoli, which organizes moments dedicated to children: at 10, the workshop “Colora il tuo paladino”, curated by the Opera dei Pupi Fratelli Gargano, and at 11.30:17, the screening of “Linda e il pollo”, by Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach. At XNUMX, the screening of the film “Berlinguer – La grande ambizione”, by Andrea Segre will take place and, to follow, an in-depth discussion in the hall with delegates from the film clubs present and the public.
Closing the Festival, scheduled for 20.30:25 pm is the city preview of the film “Il giudice e il boss” by Pasquale Scimeca, dedicated to Cesare Terranova, politician and magistrate assassinated by Cosa Nostra on 1979 September XNUMX with his collaborator Lenin Mancuso. Pasquale Scimeca, producer Linda Di Dio and Tiziana Tracuzzi, head of Libera Messina, will be present in the room; the writer Nadia Terranova will also be present via video link.
