“Messina 2030 – Green Events”: the “Green Education” laboratory in Piazza Casa Pia.
After the success of the first edition of Sustainability Festival held at Villa Dante, the activities planned within the scope of the Messina 2030 – Green Events project. In the morning of Wednesday June 7 the location of the initiative was Casa Pia square, where the Green Education laboratory with the participation of the students of IC Pascoli-Crispi, accompanied by their teachers. The mayor was present at the meeting Federico Basile, the councilor for youth policies Liana Cannata took part; the municipality's investee companies AMAM, Messinaservizi Bene Comune, Messina Social City, represented respectively by the presidents, Loredana Bonasera; Mariagrazia Interdonato and the member of the Board of Directors Lino Cucè; Valeria Asquini; and of ATM, the president Giuseppe Campagna and the member of the Board of Directors Carla Grillo.
"Another area of the city has been redeveloped thanks to Messina 2030 – Green Events – said Mayor Basile – which sees the sharing of a synergistic path between the Municipality, Participatory Companies and the Messina School Office aimed at raising awareness among the school population to actively take care of the city's green spaces, contributing to urban decorum and being active protagonists of the common good". The square area, already subject to restyling by Messina Servizi with the placement of an English lawn, was completed with the planting by the students of native plants of the Mediterranean scrub, in particular olive trees and chamaerops humilis.
