Marina di Grosseto: let's have fun with Calvino's fairy tales, an afternoon with children curated by Sara Donzelli.

San Rocco Festival dedicate an afternoon to the little ones, Thursday 17 August from 18.00 pm, at Forte San Rocco (in front of the gate of the external courtyard), with “Let's have fun with Calvino's fairy tales”, readings and animation by Sara Donzelli.
The idea was born to enhance the Green Flag status of the Italian pediatricians of Marina di Grosseto and Principina a Mare, and has become an eagerly awaited event of the San Rocco Festival; this year we want to pay homage to Italo Calvino on the centenary of his birth.

Sarah Donzelli She pours her long experience as a theater pedagogue here, which has seen her as the protagonist of theater projects in schools since her debut in Milan in the 80s. We start from the reading of two fairy tales, "The Canary Prince" and "The Superb King", taken from "Italian Fairy Tales", the collection published in the 50s in which Italo Calvino selected and reworked the great popular heritage with his personal writing represented by fairy tales, as in other European countries it had been done by authors such as the Brothers Grimm, Perrault and Andersen, filling a huge void in our culture.

After the readings, the children will be involved with interpretations and drawings, starting from the characters and plots of the fairy tales they have just heard.

The San Rocco Festival, which together with DUNE – Arti Paesaggi Utopie is part of the larger Laboratorio Utopia project, is organized by Accademia Mutamenti, with the contribution of the Municipality of Grosseto, the Tuscany Region, the Ministry of Culture, the CR Firenze Foundation and the Pro Loco of Marina di Grosseto and Principina a Mare.
