Madesimo, in the DownHill Italian Cup, the “Trofeo Regione Lombardia” arrives.
It will be held in Madesimo (Sondrio) Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July, during the Third Leg of the Italian Cup of down hill, the second edition of the “Trofeo Regione Lombardia” also by DownHill. The Trophy has recently also obtained the Patronage of the Region, which has thus recognized its value and relevance in the sporting field.
“This is an important regional challenge reserved for a constantly growing cycling specialty, capable of offering a unique adrenaline-filled experience, which combines sport and strong emotions - explains Riccardo Tagliabue, president of Sport Inside, an association that organizes and manages the competitions of this discipline at a national level for the FCI from 2021.
“The Madesimo stage – he continues – has already recorded a great success with over 250 athletes registered, including not only young people but also many women and girls. It will actually be a double stage, because it will award full points on both Saturday and Sunday. The third stage, however, will be held in Bormio at the end of August and will decide the final winners. Furthermore, for Madesimo, this is the second consecutive year of national "DownHill Italia-Sport Inside" races and its "Valle delle Streghe" track is one of the most appreciated by competitors and organizers, including international ones, so much so that it has been chosen for 2025 as headquarters of the Italian Single Trial Championship of the Italian Cycling Federation”.
For this weekend's competitions, support and encouragement also arrived from Lara Magoni, Undersecretary with responsibility for Sport of the Lombardy Region, which has always been close to the world of mountain sports: “With great enthusiasm – he said – I wish you all the best for the first round of the Trofeo Regione Lombardia and for the third stage of the Coppa Italia di Downhill.
