Gianfranco Baruchello (Livorno, 1924 – Rome, 2023), author of a group of works exhibited in the Contemporary Art Section of the Museum, lived and worked between Rome and Paris and, in his prolific research activity, he crossed the main trends of the post-war period, from Pop Art to Conceptual Art. The artist has chosen to express himself using different languages, such as painting, installation, cinema, sculpture and performative practices, focusing his research on fragmentation, dissemination on the canvas of images reduced to minimal elements and conceptual decentralization of space. Themes that he will also transpose into the artist's books and short films that he makes.
