Music centre: live performances by the young artists of "Prima delle Radici".

Modena, we conclude Saturday September 23 with a free concert"Before the roots”, the artistic residency promoted by Music Center of the Municipality of Modena in which three young local sound designers participated. The appointment is at 21.30pm in the MusicHub Tower, in via Morandi 71, where the live "restitution" of the path developed in recent weeks in collaboration with theRizosfera association within the Sonitus project and related activities Modena UNESCO creative city for media arts.

The project "Before the roots” focused on spatial practices related to listening and its philosophical implications, as well as recording, signal sampling and post production-real time audio manipulation. The artistic residency program was curated by Giuseppe Cordaro and by the guest tutor Fabio Perletta with the participation of the percussionist Enrico Malatesta and the video artist Domenico Morreale.

The public tender, aimed at musicians under 36 residents or domiciled in Emilia-Romagna, he saw over 20 applications among which three artists were selected – Constantinov Artiom, Hernan Paulitti and Dominic Sambucco – which they created together with the tutors during the five days of residency an original multimedia work focused on the approach to sound material from perspectives belonging to other fields such as biology and evolution, in an attempt to build a new musical language that syntactically borrows some behaviors from the plant and animal world. The contents, sounds and images are reworked based on the relationships between them, precious in their instability and always in the act of becoming something else; in this operation a central role is given to password and its relational potential.
