Lecce. Attention to the times of compulsive web communication, gaming addictions, the inner gaze and knowing how to be grateful to others, old age, family, the fear of getting lost. These are the great themes of the 2023_24 theater season of the Municipality of Lecce with the Pugliese Public Theater which will take place in Paisiello and Apollo theaters from November 29th. Existential and impactful The two Popes (January 26-Teatro Apollo) two columns of theater and TV, Giorgio Colangeli, Mariano Rigillo, direction Giancarlo Nicoletti, theatrical text from which a very successful Netflix film was made. Between historical document, humor and drama, the show traces not only the frenetic days that led from the resignation of Benedict to the election of Francis, but also the “parallel lives” of two very different men, united by the same destiny.
The novel is also beautiful Our souls at night di Kent Haruf from which the show on February 3 at the Apollo Theater is based Lella Costa and Elia Schilton. Sixth estate - Birth of a democracy violated by hatred, money and revenge, written and directed by Davide Sacco and with two other actors. The sixth power, the web, much more subtle, much more base, slips between smartphones, in Facebook notifications and in Instagram stories. An invisible power, like the one who commands it is always invisible and is always unknown why he does it. A danger in our hands, a continuous brainwashing, perhaps, a power from which none of us can escape.
