Lecco: work has begun to build the new Ponte Manzoni in Lecco, a work that is part of the infrastructure plan for the Olympics Milano-Cortina 2026
The investments made – continued governor Fontana – are certainly functional to the holding of the Olympics, but they are also and above all interventions that will remain in the area and which are useful to citizens.
Lecco: work has begun to build the new Ponte Manzoni in Lecco, a work that is part of the infrastructure plan for the Olympics Milano-Cortina 2026.
The president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, the regional councilors Claudia Maria Terzi (Infrastructures and Public Works), Alessandro Fermi (University, Research, Innovation) and the regional undersecretary Mauro Piazza (Autonomy and Relations with the Regional Council), together with the deputy prime minister and minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini.
President Fontana "useful interventions requested by the territory"
“The new Manzoni bridge – highlighted President Fontana – is a fundamental work for the traffic of Lecco and the entire road axis that connects Milano to Valtellina. We are committed to making Lombardy increasingly interconnected and dynamic: the Lecco hub in this sense is absolutely crucial. On our part there is widespread attention for all the territories and the Olympics are an opportunity to strengthen the infrastructure by carrying out important and long-awaited interventions".
“The investments made – the governor continued – are certainly functional to the holding of the Olympics, but they are also and above all interventions that will remain in the area and are useful to citizens. I thank Minister Salvini who, since he took office, has substantially accelerated the implementation of public works".
Councilor Terzi "more efficient roads"
“Joint efforts – underlined Councilor Terzi – between the Lombardy Region, the Ministry, Anas and local authorities produce tangible results. The objective is to improve the efficiency of the SS 36 highway in the section between the Monte Barro tunnel and the Bione junction, increasing the fluidity and safety of traffic. The new Lecco bridge over the Adda river, alongside the current infrastructure, will make the road system more functional by decongesting traffic for the benefit of the people of Lecco, tourists and the entire Lombard community".
Councilor Fermi "challenges for growth"
“An intervention that has been awaited for years – stated Councilor Fermi – and which Minister Salvini finally helped to unblock. It will significantly improve the traffic flow of the entire area and also relieve congestion on State Road 36 towards Sondrio. Once again, teamwork made the difference and Lombardy demonstrated its ability to overcome the challenges necessary for the growth of the territories, their liveability and their economy".
Undersecretary Piazza "commitment to Lecco"
“As a Lecco native – underlined Undersecretary Piazza – I know how important it is to strengthen the infrastructural structure of our territory. The Region worked, in concert with all interested parties, to unblock the situation and start one of the symbolic works for Lecco and its province. We are moving forward with determination to complete the interventions on time and give impetus to all the projects that will improve the quality of life of the people of Lecco".
It operates for over 35 million euros
The intervention, with a total value of over 35 million euros, will make it possible to expand the existing route on the route from Milano−Fish towards Lecco−Bione and involves the construction of three structures adjacent to the existing buildingsThese are:
- a first viaduct which constitutes the entrance ramp, Pescate side;
- the Adda Bridge, located completely adjacent to the existing Manzoni bridge, organized into four spans;
- a final viaduct which constitutes the exit ramp from the Adda Bridge and which extends adjacent to the existing ramp in the direction of Bione with four spans.
A 2,50 meter wide cycle path will also be built.
