La Spezia presents the second edition of the La Spezia Lirica Forum

This year it will be dedicated to Giacomo Puccini, on the 100th anniversary of the death of the great composer.

La Spezia presented the second edition of the La Spezia Lirica Forum.

The Municipality of La Spezia and the Amici del Loggiato association, in collaboration with the Navy, present the second edition of the La Spezia Lirica Forum which this year will be dedicated to Giacomo Puccini, on the 100th anniversary of the death of the great composer.

The event will be divided into three events at the Sala Dante, in Via Ugo Bassi 4, with the concert lesson “Madama Butterfly: musical reading of the opera”.

Maestro Bruno Nicoli, musical director of the Scala stage Milano, will guide the public to discover Puccini's opera.

Saturday June 22th, on board the aircraft carrier cruiser Giuseppe Garibaldi, of the Navy, the performance, in its entirety, of the opera Madama Butterfly. The protagonists of the event will be the young singers of the masterclass held by the famous baritone Roberto Sèrvile. It is the first time ever that an opera is performed on a naval unit of the Navy.

The artistic direction of the event is entrusted to maestro Roberto Sèrvile with direction, concept and lights by Paolo Panizza and Stefano Giaroli as director of the Terre Verdiane Symphony Orchestra, with the Parma Opera Chorus. The scenes are by Valeria Vago, the costumes by Arte Scenica Reggio Emilia, assistant director Elena Snidero.

The performance will be preceded, at 20.30 pm, by a speech by the Fanfare of the Northern Maritime Interregional Command directed by maestro Vito Ventre.

Monday June 24finally, at the Officers' Club “Vittorio Veneto” della Spezia, at 21.00:XNUMX p.m., the closing event of the event “Madama Butterfly: let's talk about it” will be held. Admiral Leonardo Merlini, director of the Museo Tecnico Navale della Spezia, Prof. Donatella Failla, an internationally renowned scholar of Japanese art, history and culture, the lawyer Elisa Bertogli and Dr. Paola Dadà, psychologist and psychotherapist, will address a debate on the figure of Madama Butterfly, analyzing it with the critical eye of the contemporary mentality.

The debate will be moderated by the famous musicologist Massimo Arduino.

The objective of the meeting will be to explore how the figure of Madama Butterfly can be interpreted and understood by men and women in today's world, highlighting her contemporary relevance and her socio-cultural impact.

All events are free while places last.

The performance, in its entirety, of the Opera Madama Butterfly on June 22 is free upon reservation on the website www.sarzanalirica.it. Tickets are nominative and non-transferable. Low shoes with rubber soles are recommended. Given the location where the presentation will take place: a military ship accessed via a narrow and steep staircase, participation in the event is not recommended for people with walking difficulties.
