La Spezia: “Sport in Piazza 2024”, sport protagonist on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September

Saturday 28 e Sunday 29 September Sport, once again, will be the protagonist in La Spezia with the initiative, promoted by the Peracchini Administration and organized by the Department of Sport "SPORT IN THE SQUARE 2024“. An event designed with the aim of making all sports known to the general public, facilitating the approach to sports practice and all this right in the streets and squares of the city appropriately set up.

“Sport in the Square 2024” It was presented on the morning of Saturday 21st at the Palazzo Civico by the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini, from the Sports Councillor Marco Frascatore and by the managers of the sports clubs that will take part in the initiative.

“An initiative that already in the first edition was able to involve and excite many young people and that this year we are presenting even bigger, with over 60 sports disciplines to try. – declares the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini – A sports festival to promote the importance of sports practice not only for maintaining a correct psycho-physical balance, but also for the universal values ​​that it is able to transmit and that must be fundamental for the community. The Administration in recent years has invested heavily in sports infrastructure with important projects such as the construction of a new swimming pool and two new gyms, and organized large sports events capable of exciting and attracting a large audience.”

“For the Peracchini administration – declares the Sports Councillor Marco Frascatore – sport represents one of the cornerstones of our community not only with regard to the physical and mental health of those who practice it, but also for the importance it has in encompassing all those principles and values ​​that make it unique and fundamental also socio-culturally, thus becoming an effective protagonist in the lives of all of us.
This second edition, as happened last year, will in fact bring, concretely, sporting activity among the people, in the streets, in the squares of our wonderful city in the heart of the entire community, thus offering, to anyone who wants it, the possibility of trying every kind of sporting discipline and that sporting spirit that I am sure will act as a stimulus for good living together in a city like La Spezia that proves to be always different.”

Next weekend the city centre will be transformed into a giant sports field where events will take place 50 different sports disciplines and it will be possible to get in touch with approximately 34 sports clubs who will have their own space available.

Not only sports demonstrations but also the will, on the part of the Administration, to promote the practice of sports activities by citizens of all ages, regardless of their social, physical, mental and economic condition.

The event will take place on September 28th from 10:00 to 22:XNUMX and the September 29th from 10am to 17:30pm.

The places affected are:

Europa Square where basketball, volleyball, tennis, handball and American football courts will be set up, as well as a ring (standard for boxing and combat sports) and the gazebos of the following clubs: Pantathlon, the Sports Museum, and the basketball, tennis and volleyball clubs

Verdi Square the gazebos of the Armed Forces will be present, in particular the Navy will bring a sailing simulator. The Velocior and Circolo velico companies will also be present

Bastion Square will host martial arts

Nail Street e Public gardens (side of the music stage) the protagonist will be athletics with a 30m track and 4 lanes. A mountain bike and roller skating path will also be set up.

Corso Cavour will host dance, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, fencing, chess, table tennis, pole dancing and the CAI will bring a climbing wall. There will also be gazebos of the swimming and rescue associations, H2O, sub ospedale, Panathlon.

During the day of Saturday 28th until 19pm you can try all types of activities and in the evening you can watch professional performances and/or small basketball, volleyball and tennis tournaments.
On Sunday, you can try all the disciplines again until the end of the event.

The event also aims to be a showcase for all sports, even for those mistakenly considered minors; in this way, especially young people will be offered the opportunity to try out the various disciplines in order to make an informed choice.
