La Spezia: Pigiama Run 2024, run or walk for children with cancer

It was presented at Palazzo Civico by the councilor for health policies Giulio Guerri, Laura Lombardi LILT president and Alexander Bacchioni President of CAI LA Spezia, the “Pajama Run 2024” that this year for the first time it will also be held in La SpeziaThe Pigiama Run, now in its 6th edition, is the charity event dedicated to the fight against pediatric tumors and you run and walk strictly ... in your pyjamas!

All over the world the month of September is dedicated to Gold Ribbon or rather to the Pediatric Cancer Awareness. This is why the Pigiama Run was born, the traditional run and walk in pyjamas organized by LILT in support of children with cancer that in La Spezia sees the Municipal Administration and the Italian Alpine Club, La Spezia section, as the main partners of the initiative that the Municipality has sponsored and supports, through the health policy departments and the City of Children.

“A very beautiful and important event – ​​declared the councilor Giulio Guerri – which strengthens the collaborative relationship between our Administration and LILT, which has already seen significant moments, such as the installation in the Maggiolina Park of a pink bench to raise awareness on the topic of the fight against breast cancer and will continue with new informative and informative inactive events, to promote knowledge and prevention in the oncology field in the city. Friday is dedicated to one of the objectives that are closest to our hearts, namely the health and well-being of children. We thank LILT and all the partners of the initiative for this national event. On this occasion, we renew our closeness and gratitude to all the health workers and volunteers who are committed, in our city and in our region, on the front of pediatric and oncology services.”

The Pigiama Run will be held simultaneously in 40 Italian cities and the appointment in La Spezia is Friday September 20 to the 17,30 in Piazza Europa departing at 19. The Municipality of La Spezia and CAI supported the initiative and organized a party with the participation of Radio Nostalgia which, in addition to being a media partner, will liven up the square starting from 17,30 pm. All proceeds will be donated to Gaslini Together Foundation, to support a hospitality project aimed at the families of children hospitalized in pediatric oncology.

On September 20th, all participants will have to do is register for the race and show up in Piazza Europa. STRICTLY IN PYJAMAS, choosing in total freedom how to personalize your outfit, to show affection and closeness to those who stay in pyjamas all day because they are sick.

A race to have fun and do sports, therefore, but also in the name of solidarity. With the proceeds from the registrations LILT will in fact support throughout Italy concrete projects and services of help and hospitality for children with cancer and their families.

The appointment is on September 20th at Piazza Europa. The event will start at 18.30:19 pm, departure 17.30:XNUMX pm: we recommend arriving a little earlier, from XNUMX:XNUMX pm. It will be a route suitable for everyone that will take place in the city center with a return to Piazza Europa for a total distance of 4 km.
