Ticket prices will remain at a deliberately low price to allow the widest possible enjoyment of the Cinema by citizens.”
Opening screening
The 2024/2025 film season of the Odeon Cinema is underway at the Mediateca Regionale Ligure “S. Fregoso” in via Firenze, 37 with the tribute for the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Marcello Mastroianni on September 26th with the screening of two free-entry films: at 17.00:2024 pm “Marcello Mio”, a film presented at the 21.00 Cannes Film Festival which received considerable critical acclaim; followed at 8:1 pm by the screening of a classic restored by the Cineteca di Bologna, with which the Odeon is also establishing an important synergy this year, 2 XNUMX/XNUMX, Federico Fellini's masterpiece with a great performance by Mastroianni.
Screening of the first visions
The weekly screening of first releases will begin on Friday 27th September and will open with the film by Francesca Comencini dedicated to his father Luigi with whom he shares a passion for cinema, entitled “Il tempo che ci vuole”, a film just presented at the 81st Venice Film Festival, applauded at length by critics and the audience present. A personal story of moments and memories that have remained vivid in the memory: cinema as a passion, a lifestyle choice, a way of being in the world. The story is set during the Years of Lead, a historical period of change, full of political struggles and social revolutions, but unfortunately also of massacres. It is precisely this fragment of Italian history that heroin appears and spreads, which marks and profoundly changes the lives of lost generations. It is “the time that it takes” to save oneself, to be able to say thank you with the great performances of Fabrizio Gifuni and the revelation Romana Maggiora Vergano discovered in Paola Cortellesi's film “C'è ancora domani”.
Beware of restored masterpieces
This year the Odeon Cinema is dedicating particular attention to restored masterpieces, with two specific reviews on two cinema myths: the first on Marcello Mastroianni dedicated to the hundredth anniversary of his birth and the second to Eric Rohmer, a retrospective entitled “Comedy and Proverbs” of six films that have love as their central theme.
The new film season will have a review dedicated to families and children with a special discounts for groups with typically “family” animated and entertainment films.
Coming soon from Odeon
for the series of restored films, there will be one of Akira Kurosawa's first films with "Yojimbo"; for the first screenings, "Familia" successfully presented at the Venice Film Festival and "Vittoria", also among the films presented in Venice and the awaited film "The Apprentice" on Donald Trump's entrepreneurial life from the Cannes Film Festival.
There will be great anticipation at the Odeon for Sorrentino's film "Parthenope", scheduled for the end of October.
