La Spezia in celebration: 100 events for a magical Christmas.

Christmas 2024 will be unforgettable thanks to the approximately 100 events organized in a month that make up a rich program of shows, events, music, dances that will take place throughout the city. A city decorated for the holidays thanks to the splendid lights that make the Christmas atmosphere unique and will give the people of La Spezia, young and old, and the many tourists who increasingly choose our city as a destination, the chance to breathe in a festive and serene atmosphere.

The mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini declares: "Holy Christmas is a magical time, capable of bringing joy to children and families, full of meaning and hope for the future. To celebrate this special atmosphere in the best possible way, we have organized a calendar full of events designed to involve and excite young and old. Our top-level exhibitions in the Museums, such as the Lia, the CAMeC, the Etnografico and others, are accompanied by initiatives such as the Trac Festival, the contemporary circus in the Pin chapiteau, concerts, live music, workshops for children, parades, markets and the unmissable appointments with Santa Claus in Piazza Europa, which will make this period truly unforgettable for the little ones. Until January 6, La Spezia offers 100 reasons to visit, have fun and go shopping, with particular attention to sustainable mobility. In fact, it is possible to easily reach the historic center thanks to the shuttle service, connected to the interchange car parks in Piazzale Pozzoli and Piazza D'Armi, free for 12 hours, which have recently come into operation. During the period Christmas, the shuttle service will also be operational on Sundays with trips every 30 minutes. La Spezia is increasingly lively and welcoming, ready to give special moments to anyone who chooses to discover it. "

A program that will see the Museums and civic libraries as protagonists, offering over 60 events for a rich agenda of afternoon educational workshops in all the structures with the theme “Let's have fun learning” to promote knowledge of the history, culture and identity of La Spezia through fun activities in museums and the importance of reading especially among the little ones in libraries, with also specific shared reading meetings for adults at the Civic Library “PM Beghi”. Not only that, the meetings of “Libriamoci” continue both in the Ligurian Regional Media Library “S. Fregoso” and in the Civic Library “U. Mazzini” - authors of the Gulf”: meetings with local writers in dialogue with authoritative exponents of the cultural community of La Spezia.

In addition to all this, the exhibitions currently underway: at CAMeC – Center for Modern and Contemporary Art “New exhibition of the permanent collection curated by Gerhard Wolf”; at the Civic Museum “Amedea Lia”, “The art of travelling. Italy and the Grand Tour” until January 12, 2025 and from December 14, 2024 “The Adoration of the Shepherds by Luca Cambiaso”; at the Museo Civico del Sigillo the splendid and unique permanent civic collection; Museo Civico Etnografico “Giovanni Podenzana”, “En Garde! Artistic manufactures, precious materials and traditional rituals in the ancient weapons of the Museo Civico” and “Venite Adoremus. But also the opening on weekends of the Quintino Sella air raid shelter which, thanks to the multimedia installations present, will offer visitors a unique experience. And still great shows at the "new" Teatro Civico included in the theatrical season and the itinerant ones with stilt walkers, acrobats and acrobats, music, concerts, the Christmas trophy of the Palio del Golfo in Passeggiata Morin, the exhibitions, the shows at the Teatro Civico and the return of the TRAC festival, inside a big top immersed in the historic gardens of the city in the external area of ​​the PIN, which this year will also propose a program of events that will bring to La Spezia the best "street artists" from all over the world and who have participated in the most important European festivals. The Pro Loco that will animate the villages of La Spezia and finally, for the month of December, the big party organized by the Peracchini Administration on December 31st in Piazza Europa to say goodbye to 2023 and welcome 2024.

And to make it easier to enter the city, from this year you can use the two interchange car parks in Piazza Pozzoli and Piazza D'armi which, thanks to the recently completed works, have made it possible to have almost 800 free parking spaces available just a stone's throw from the city. with a free shuttle bus connection service which, right in the Christmas period, will also be extended to Sundays starting from Sunday 8 December and up to Sunday 5 January 2025 (inclusive).

The shuttle service, operated by ATC Esercizio SpA, will be available on Sundays from 9,00 am to 20,00 pm with a frequency of trips every 30 minutes.

On other days of the week (Monday to Saturday), the service will maintain its usual timetable and frequency of trips. In short, there are more than 100 reasons to stay in La Spezia and experience Christmas in joy and serenity.
