La Spezia, Piazza San Domenico di Guzman: redevelopment work begins to give new beauty and decorum to the square. 400 thousand euros invested.

Yesterday morning the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini together with the councilor for public works Pietro Antonio Cimino, carried out an inspection in Piazza Domenico di Guzman on the occasion of the start of the redevelopment works. Long awaited works that will contribute to make the square more beautiful, functional and safe and which will give greater decorum to the entire Mazzetta district. A place that has always been very popular with the inhabitants of the neighborhood and in particular with the little ones, also given the immediate proximity of an elementary school. The project studied and strongly supported by the Peracchini Administration April 10 sees the start of the works that will give new life not only to the square but to the entire area.

“An intervention that will make Piazza San Domenico di Guzman more welcoming and functional – declares the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini – thanks to the co-financing of the Liguria Region we are redeveloping an important place and a point of reference for the neighborhood where children can play and have fun in safety".

The intervention developed by the municipal administration envisages redefine the square from an architectural and functional point of view, located within a green area of ​​approximately 3.000 mXNUMX, with the complete renovation of the paving of the paths inside the park, of the perimeter sidewalks and of the arrangements and furnishings in a state of serious dilapidation, the reorganization of the small amphitheater, the reshaping of flowerbeds, the placement of a fountain.

The redevelopment project studied by the Peracchini Administration respects the criteria of environmental, infrastructural and socio-economic sustainability. In fact, the works will not determine land consumption by redeveloping a green area within the urban fabric of the Mazzetta district, improving accessibility also with regard to the removal of architectural barriers and the quality of public space, responding to a particularly felt and expressed need by the inhabitants, of environmental quality and elimination of degradation.

Furthermore, the square will be equipped with video surveillance systems. The duration of the works will be 180 days and the total amount of the project is €400.000,00
