La Spezia: the Mundialito, the amateur football tournament with the teams representing the foreign communities of La Spezia, has ended.

 With Albania's victory, the Mundialito ended, the 7-a-side football tournament for amateurs which involved the teams representing the foreign communities of La Spezia. The competition was organized by Fas (Federation of Foreign Associations), with the support of Uisp and the patronage of the Municipality of La Spezia.

 All the group matches, the semi-finals and the final last night, Sunday 25 June, were held at the Dlf Le Giraffe sports center in Fossitermi and the national teams of Romania, Ukraine, Senegal, Bangladesh, Dominican Republic, Morocco, Ecuador participated , Albania. A moment of sport and fun, to create union between the different communities that have lived together in the city for generations and are an integral part of the local population.

Furthermore, this initiative was organized for charitable purposes. Two fundraisers were launched for the occasion. One to help a hospital in Ukraine, the other to support Anwar Makrate, student of the Domenico Chiodo professional institute of Moroccan origins, who recently underwent a heart transplant.

during the event over 1500 euros were raised, which will soon be handed over in a ceremony.

 The mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini declares: “Sport is a universal language, which overcomes any cultural, linguistic or social barrier, but unites people in a common passion. I am very happy that this event organized with the aim of promoting inclusion and diversity was well attended and allowed us to raise funds for charity. We will continue to support initiatives of this type in the future."
