La Spezia, the "Sport in the square 2023" initiative is underway.

Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 October sport returns to the protagonist Spezia with the initiative, promoted by the Peracchini Administration and organized by the Sports Department, “Sport in the square 2023”, aimed at making all sports known to the general public, facilitating the introduction to sports and allowing people to experience a full day in city spaces.

«An opportunity for our kids, but not only, to try the sports that can be practiced in our area – declares the mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini –. The Administration is committed to supporting sport both as a tool for health prevention, but also as a bearer of those values ​​such as loyalty and solidarity, even in competition, which must be an integral part of society. I invite you not to miss this first edition of “Sport in Piazza 2023”».

«For the Peracchini administration – declares the Sports Councilor Marco Frascatore - Sport represents one of the key principles of our community, not only with regards to the physical and mental health of those who practice it, but also for the importance it has in enclosing all those principles and values ​​that make it unique and fundamental also socio-culturally, thus becoming an effective protagonist in the life of all of us.

For the first time, with the intention of renewing it as an annual event, this event will actually bring sporting activity among the people, in the streets, in the squares of our wonderful city into the heart of the whole community, thus offering everyone want it, the possibility of trying every kind of sporting discipline (there are in fact 50 disciplines present) and that sporting spirit which I am sure will be a stimulus for good common living in a city like La Spezia which always proves to be different".

The two days were presented on Tuesday morning at Palazzo Civico by mayor Peracchini by councilor Frascatore. The managers of the sports clubs that will take part in the initiative were also present at the presentation.

Next weekend, therefore, the center of La Spezia will be transformed into a gigantic sports field where they will take place 50 different sports disciplines and you will be able to make contact with around 80 sports clubs that will have their own space available.

The event will take place in Piazza Europa, in Piazza Verdi, at the Public Gardens, at the new space by the sea Calata Paita and Molo Italia.
