Kite Festival: the fifth edition begins in Capo Peloro.

Messina, starting tomorrow, Friday 29 September to Sunday 1 October, the beach of Cape Pelorus hosts for the fifth year the Kite Festival. The weekend program was illustrated today, with the mayor present Federico Basile, during a press conference a Zanca palace, which was attended by the councilors for entertainment and major city events Massimo Finocchiaro and Tourism and Brand Messina Enzo Caruso, and the president of the Board of Directors of Messinaservizi Bene Comune Mariagrazia Interdonato.

“The Kite Festival – declared the mayor Basile - it is a traditional event that allows visitors and citizens to experience days of joy and socialization under the sun, sea and wind. I would like to point out that this is not a limited event, but the entire city; in fact, it is not an end in itself, but open to all and has a high symbolic value as it also takes place in an area, the Sea Flight Arena, freed from the presence of the eco-monster. The logo of the event 'Sicily begins here' is therefore a message of union and promotion of our territory".

“Each event is the result of several months' organizational work – continued the councilor Finocchiaro - and the Kite Festival does not escape this rule. The municipal administration was an active part in the three-day planning phase which aims to spread the kite culture and grow our land through its natural beauty. The presence of numerous kite flyers from different cities is another sign of the development of the event".

“It's a colorful festival – added the councilor Caruso - I am particularly happy and honored to have participated in it in another role since its origin. The Festival is a source of general attraction as it develops an induced economy in terms of accommodation and turns the spotlight on one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy".

The president Interdonato, present on behalf of Messina 2030 Green Events Protocol, brought “the institutional greetings of all the companies involved in the Municipality, proud of this city development project, thanks to an intuition of our mayor Basile".

The organizational aspects and the program of events were presented by representatives of Proloco Capo Peloro, promoters of the event, in collaboration with the Municipality of Messina, respectively the president In Cutugno, the Secretary Paolo Alibrandi and the members of the board of directors, as well as a representation of city entities that have joined the event as sponsors and partners. The festival will take place in the spaces surrounding the free beach of the tip, such as Lanternino square, former Sea Flight Area and Horcynus Orca Foundation.
