Guided tours of the “Fairs, cities and merchants” exhibition in Asti continue.

The first edition of the Medieval Festival, which took place in September, had among its key events the exhibition entitled “Fairs, cities and merchants (1350-1600)”, organised within the framework of the international CoMOR project of the CIHAM of Lyon and the University of Erfurt, in close relation with the activity of the “Renato Bordone” Study Centre of Asti.

Following the extension of the exhibition until December 5th, a series of free guided tours will be organized on Saturday 9, 23 and 30 November, led by the curator Ezio Claudio Pia. Saturday 9, the visit will be dedicated to teachers of schools of all levels. The visits will take place at 10.00, at the Historical Archive of Asti, Via Massaia, 5.

"The extension of the exhibition - explain Mayor Maurizio Rasero and Councilor for Culture Paride Candelaresi - will allow us to reopen the doors of our Historical Archive and to display to the public the precious medieval documents hosted therein. This first visit is aimed at all teachers, while on the 23rd it will be open to all citizens and, finally, on the 30th to the Asti service clubs".

"This is an opportunity to learn more about the central role of Asti in European economic history between the Middle Ages and the Modern Age. - Explains the curator of the exhibition Ezio Claudio Pia. The Asti initiative is in fact linked to an international project that has proposed these themes in two exhibitions recently held in Lyon and Leipzig. These latter experiences contributed to the first successful edition of the Asti Medieval Festival."
