Grosseto: revision of toponymic plaques and civic numbering of the streets in the center, the Municipality project is underway.

Walking through the streets of the historic city center a conglomerate of different materials emerged used for the street sign plates, as well as inconsistencies in the distribution of the numbering themselves. The Municipality wanted to take action, returning the plates and house numbers to compliance with current regulations and aesthetic homogeneity.
To do this, a traditional material such as handcrafted glazed ceramic was used, with colors and symbols that recall our city. The choice fell on the colors white and red and on the symbol of the griffin armed with a sword. An action thanks to which the aesthetic appearance of the streets of the center has improved: Corso Carducci, Piazza del Duomo, Piazza Dante and Via Manin and Ricasoli.

“Good – comments the mayor Anton Francesco Vivarelli Colonna – the restyling plan relating to the street furniture of our streets. The project starts from the main streets and squares of the historic center, until it involves the entire road ring including within the Walls. It is an aesthetic and functional redevelopment operation in which, as an Administration, we particularly believe. In this way we are going to beautify the entire city. The action implemented is not just intended to be a redevelopment project through restoration, but a project to raise awareness of the care of public spaces by stimulating the sense of belonging to our territory".

The councilor for toponymy was satisfied, Fabrizio Rossi: “We strongly wanted a redevelopment of the historic center and we intend to continue. We will continue with the reordering of plaques and house numbers in this way, in successive steps, until all the streets within the ring of the Walls are covered. Naturally there are other initiatives planned. These include the development of regulatory rules that direct and manage the interventions in such a way as to make them homogeneous, compatible with the decorum required by such a significant urban environment and the promotion of conforming actions and interventions in order to improve the welcome of our living room. citizen".
