The 'Capital squared' of the '50x50' project of Pesaro 2024 presents a rich program of cultural events, exhibitions and activities for all ages, celebrating the history and food and wine excellence of the area with the new protagonist: Gradara.

Gradara, the new protagonist of '50×50: Capitals squared' available from 4 to 10 November.

From November 4th to 10th it is the Municipality of Gradara the new protagonist of '50×50: Capitals squared', the symbolic project of Pesaro 2024 which sees the fifty Municipalities of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in turns, Capital for a week throughout 2024.

The rich program entitled 'Festival degli sguardi – Sguardi d'autunno' includes photography, music, painting, workshops for adults and children, editorial presentations and tours to discover the history and food and wine excellence of the area. The press conference was an opportunity to preview the video 'Beautiful Gradara' directed by Roberto Romani, made with funds from the European Union, which will be shown to the public for the first time at the Festival degli sguardi on Saturday 9 November (20 pm).

Gradara, la nuova protagonista di '50x50: Capitali al quadrato' disponibile dal 4 al 10 novembre

The press conference was attended by: Daniele Vimini, Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Pesaro; for Gradara, Marino Rossini, Councilor for Budget - Productive Activities - Participated Companies, Andrea Villa/Gradara Innova, curator of the photographic exhibition THE OTHER LOOK. Views and visions of the landscape of the Riviera del San Bartolo, photographs by Nicole Marchi and Vincenzo Chiappa.

Opened Daniele Vimini: it is clear that the Gradara week has a special value not only for the strong territorial bond with Pesaro but also for its rich history. We had already had the triangulation with Gabicce in March with which – together with Gradara – we share the project of tourist promotion of the Riviera del San Bartolo thanks to the Park that binds us. With Gradara the collaborations for cultural events are already active during the year also thanks to the collaboration with Gradara Innova and now the Week is a further opportunity for dialogue with Pesaro. It is worth remembering that Gradara is one of the most beloved cultural and tourist destinations in the Marche, for the Castle but also for its rich program of activities throughout the year.

Has continued Marino Rossini: sWe are truly happy and excited that the time has come for Gradara to celebrate the year of Pesaro 2024 – Italian Capital of Culture. An “epochal” event that has united the municipalities of the province, allowing everyone to have this great opportunity to make their beauties and specialties known internationally. We thank the Municipality of Pesaro and also, of course, the Municipality of Gabicce Mare, which preceded us by excellently opening last March, the Festival degli Sguardi – our joint project for Pesaro 2024 – of which we are proud to take up the baton. Gabicce Mare and Gradara are fortunate to enjoy and share the incredible views and nature of the Riviera del San Bartolo, which we wanted to enhance through a program of initiatives that includes photographic exhibitions, concerts, cultural and sensorial itineraries, workshops and laboratories for young people, adults and children. The Festival degli Sguardi d'autunno is a widespread event that invites you to explore the history and places of Gradara - the village, the Rocca, the MARV museum - and of course the territory with its incredible landscapes seen with the eye and sensitivity of an "artist". The collaboration of our historical associations and groups is fundamental, who with enthusiasm, competence and passion have organized various events that enrich the calendar of the Gradara week dedicated to Pesaro 2024.

He concluded Andrea Villa illustrating the calendar events: the “Festival degli sguardi” presents a series of events with a historical-artistic slant. The inauguration of the week with the historical-musical meeting “Sguardi peccaminosi sul Seicento” which addresses little-researched themes such as sex and prostitution, within the exhibition “Il gran gioco del mondo. Giochi e extravaganze di Giuseppe Maria Mitelli”. On October 19, the exhibition “L'altro sguardo. Vedute e visioni del paesaggio della Riviera del San Bartolo” curated by me was inaugurated in which Nicole Marchi and Vincenzo Chiappa give shape to a story through images of the life (and) of the landscape of the Riviera del San Bartolo, describing the territory through another gaze. Within the exhibition there will be events such as “Paesaggi divini/sorsi divini”, a walk through wine and photography to discover the richness of our region and the presentation of the photographic book “Vento” curated by Nicole Marchi. In conclusion, a round table will delve into the figure of Carlo Betti, photographer, partisan and animator of the Pesaro cultural scene who documents the Liberation of the city in 1944. Furthermore, the exhibition “From Gradara to Pesaro: Carlo Betti. Photography, ANPI, associationism” curated by Marcello Sparaventi, which illustrates the urban changes of our territory, is dedicated to Carlo Betti.
