Genoa, 3887 thousand reservations for the “Palazzi Svelati” event on June 2nd

There are already 3887 reservations to link https://palazzisvelati.happyticket.it/ to visit, Sunday June 2, Republic Day, the 22 buildings participating in the new edition of “Palazzi Unveiled”, the extraordinary opening of buildings to the public of the institutions of Genoa usually closed to the public, including that of the Liguria Region.

As many as 23 institutions were involved (The Prefecture and the Metropolitan City of Genoa are located in the same building, Palazzo Doria Spinola), including three new features in this 2024 edition: Villa Sauli Bombrini Doria (home of the Paganini Conservatory in the Albaro district), the Diocesan Museum of Genoa Cloister of the Canons of San Lorenzo and the Ducal Palace of Genoa.

Booking is still possible, and last minute visitors are expected as, in many cases, booking is optional.

"Great attention and curiosity for the 2024 edition of the Palazzi Svelati - says the interim president of the Liguria Region -, event that reconfirms itself as a true distinctive sign of Genoa in inextricably uniting culture and Institutions. Thus, the doors are opened to places that are not normally accessible to the public, but equipped with real artistic treasures. A unique formula that is increasingly appreciated, with many attractive events and three new entries in the circuit of openings capable of attracting citizens and tourists as well as a way to fully experience the public buildings where the Institutions are located, eliminating any kind of distance. I remember that, in the last edition, the presence of approximately 1700 visitors was recorded just for the Palazzo della Regione Liguria”.

For the occasion, inside the Liguria Region building in Piazza De Ferrari, visitors will be able to admire a painting, coming from a private collection, which tells a corner of Genoa, the current Piazza Matteotti, as it was in the second half of the 600th century. Si it's about a work of German Peter Maurice Bolckman – born in 1640 in Germany, in Gorinchem, and died in Turin in 1710 – who visited Genoa between 1670 and 1680 approximately, and portrays one of the liveliest and most colorful corners: Piazza Matteotti, known at the time as “Piazza Nuova”, represented during the course of a market. Among “besagnini”, prelates, nobles transported in sedan chairs and many other characters, visitors will be able to admire the square in a new light, capturing the differences and similarities between its current form and that of the 17th century. The initiative, Entitled The city revealed – The “grand theatre” of Piazza Nuova through the eyes of a Nordic, is curated by Anna Orlando.

On the occasion of June 2nd the official ceremony to celebrate Republic Day will be held in Piazza Matteotti, starting at 9.30.

Scheduled, after the flag raising, the performance of the national anthem by the Niccolò Paganini Conservatory of Genoa and the reading of the message from the President of the Republic.
